If you think that I'm clueless, I can't help you with that. I can adjust my decisions to fit new information. The key is not to accept mainstream, "respectable" sources. They are the key sources of misinformation, mostly meant for the low-hanging fruit. When you realize that most of the media is lying to you or deliberately omitting things, and yes, that includes Fox as well as the more obvious ones like CNN and MSNBC and the alphabets...well, you realize that you need to go elsewhere for reliable data. Most people who are misinformed are so because they trust the official propaganda networks.

Well, he was a novice who was sort of surprised he won and didn’t really know what he was doing even though he gave it the good old college try at the end to stay in power. He continues to discredit media and election results/integrity just like a junior authoritarian wannabe, and if reelected has project 2025 which just could make him president for life if they tee it up right.

He didn't originally run to win. He ran as a favor to Bill and Hillary. When he decided to run in earnest, he made an enemy of them. They've never forgiven him for that or for winning. They saw it as a betrayal. The friendship has turned to a real enmity. As for plans to be a dictator, I just don't buy it. He's crass, crude, vulgar, brash, etc. He's not subtle enough to pull off a Palpatine-like takeover, which was what one would need to seize control of the Republic. The palace coup in the White House was much closer to an actual coup than the riots on January 6, which were neither subtle, nor organized, nor armed. As a student of history, it reminded me of the Kremlin palace coup against Nikita Khrushchev that installed Leonid Brezhnev.

As a favor? I’ve never heard that before. He’d floated presidential aspirations for at least a couple of decades before and the the Clinton campaign was happy to have him but even a google didn’t turn up favor, though admittedly I didn’t dig too deep.

You are correct that he is crass and all those things. And you are correct that he is not subtle. But he doesn’t have to be the mastermind. He’s got a lot of loyalists planning out the details to erode institutional independence and consolidate power in the presidency-that’s what project 2025 is all about. His admin was a clumsy run at things, next go round won’t be good for the constitution and democracy. But, fair enough on your opinion.
