Thanks for your reply, I'm not too worried as my entry False Gossip is scoring under 4.5 anyway, so I'm not battling near the top of the leader board. But it looks like there was indeed a further pass where I lost 13 votes and went up about 0.2. All good!

Either not got to mine yet, or the earlier sweep got everything - but that pushed mine all over the magic 4.5 and seemed to have increased the daily views by nearly double to a rate not seen for over a week (obsessive moi?

It will be interesting to see the results. I checked in on my story last night and saw it lost two votes and jumped 0.02 in score then gained three votes and dropped 0.03.
This morning, post sweep, I guess, it had lost 27 votes and gone up 0.12. Since then it has gotten two more votes and dropped 0.03.
Some people's kids, I guess...

Looks like a final sweep this morning (GMT) as lost 35 to 40 votes and seen a story go up 0.01, take into account just under 2k votes though. Where over this year I've picked up followers, my guess is that there are some that love to hate me in there too as I see a pattern when I first post a story in both scores going up & down. I tend to use the votes and comments to determine if that story hit the spot.

The sweeps brought some scores up - I counted 18 stories this morning at 4.8 or above. It’ll be interesting to see how it all shakes out!

So far, I’ve had a couple of small sweeps that just wobbled my score. If the big sweep is done, I’m probably out of contention. But, just anecdotally, I have long suspected that the highest scoring stories get their big sweeps just before she cuts off voting.

I’ve seen some small sweeps on mine, but I only have 59 votes on it, so the sweeps will only be so large.
Either way, I should probably work instead of obsessively checking this.

I benefited from the sweep, and I didn't have a story in this contest. I've kept track of the score and votes and one of my stories lost 5 votes out of around 400 and the score went from 4.79 to 4.82. Now it's my highest all time scoring story, which is nice. Thank you, winter contest!

My newest story lost four or five votes (out of around 60) from repeated sweeps, and went up from 4.53 to 4.65. Another older story that hadn't had any new votes for months lost four and went from 4.4 to 4.48. A few more adjustments here and there.

My votes peaked yesterday morning. I lost seven votes yesterday (net) and two overnight. None in the last couple hours. Aside from my contest story, votes have only been swept from two other stories in my catalogue, and in one case it was followed by a down vote that put the score back where it started.

I'm learning a lot from this thread. It's my first time entering a contest, and while downvoting the contest story was to be expected, I didn't expect my other stories to suffer from the trolling as well.

Holy Shit. HOLY SHIT. I did not see that coming... for a whole bunch of reasons. For one, I thought my category was too niche to draw the necessary traffic. More to the point, I don't really know what I'm doing and didn't have a strategy. I posted mine to get it up on the first day, but then saw all the warnings on here that doing so put a target on your back for trolls to pull it down (and of course, in the last hour or so, I see some trolls are still at it...). I'm new enough that I have no idea about the mechanics of how things are scored, but I figured it was better to just lay back and see what happens.

My Romance entry lost about 19 votes and gained 0.06 points to 4.78 so I was happy with the score but the number of views was down compared to my stories in past contests. While in a different category (LW, which gets more traffic), my new story that premiered this morning already had more views, more votes, more favorites, and almost as many comments and new followers in about 12 hours than my contest entry had in over two weeks. The one thing it was lacking was a decent score, which is why I didn’t try that category for the contest!
