Word of the day to ponder over

I'll have to go raid my kids' school supply cabinet. There's a nice hardcover one there.
Here's my tool of choice:

Just went to my favorite dictionary and found four words between tizzy and to: tjalk, tmema, tmesis, and tmetic.

Well, you must know what you're tjalking about...

My kids use The Oxford American Desk Dictionary, which includes the word Tlingit between the two aforementioned words. :)
My regular desk dictionary includes Tlingit as well. The OED does not because it's a proper name.

My word for the day is "focus," because it's what I have to do (once I get started on my work) in order to have time to play later.

I have two words: concentrate and freezing.

I need to concentrate on a new sewing skill I am in the process of learning. There were many swear words coming out of my sewing room this afternoon.

And, mercy, it's freezing here. My feet will never be warm again.

redoubt

As in the sense of a temporary, defensive fortification. I'm feeling the need to be a bit more self-protective these days, not so reckless and devil-may-care about wearing it all my sleeve like I normally do. Maybe it's the approaching winter solstice ...

Duzzat make sense/resonant with anyone?

It does make sense, though initially I thought that you were talking about golf (some of the nastiest bunkers in Scotland hve redoubted edges and are nearly vertical).

Hi bobsgirl, perhaps if you concentrate your
chi on your feet, they will feel warmer.

My word of the day is chi (cheeh), life force, energy, flow. I've become aware of it gradually inside me, especially when I am still.

Hi, Mia! I really like your word of the day! I'll try it for my feet. God knows I've tried everything else. They're warm now but that's because they're under a quilt.

Patience

Today I find myself in need of patience - both with myself and with the world around me. It's a good thing, to be sure, but sometimes I have a really hard time being patient. About some things I am the proverbial kid waiting for Santa.

Does one need their own word to post here? I'd really like to use Yankster's post- every word of it. It's exactly right today and I can't say it any better.

(Yes, Yank, I know I'll hear about admitting that)

No smartass remarks from me, GG. How about one of these for the compliment? Better yet, have a dozen: :rose:

Yes, except I'm out of phase with you. I've spend much of the last year in my redoubt and I'm trying to get out now.

Anticipation

The weatherman is anticipating I am going to get 6-8 inches of snow..

you're getting 6" to 8"? Is that real snow or e-snow?
When I was growing up I had to walk to school through the snow uphill both ways. And we never got less than 2 feet of snow, even in April.
