HT Cafe? My mind is wandering, yessss, mmmmm , the crystal ball says
Hot Topic Cafe: open discussion forum for topics involving sex and relationships.
*pffffft Pop* The batteries just died on the crystal ball.
This is an excellent point Hot Topic is a trendy clothing store for young adolescent girls - and they are probably not yet ready for Bobmi's sense of humor.BlueSugar said:careful with what you name it, if it has key words like Hot Topic you may get more 16 yr olds looking for gothic clothing and finding sex advice.

Nor does Lit need the aggravation of thousands of underage girls showing up here, followed shortly thereafter by some percentage of their parents.
I'd start such a thread but for the risk that someone would turn around and immediately start a thread called "How To Cure Kisso of Making Bad Puns."Bobmi357 said:Hey now! Whats wrong with my sense of humor?
My sense of humor isn't up for discussion here. Maybe on the new board perhaps. But this is the how to board, not the "Lets Fix Bob's sense of humor" board.

I don't think it's incurable at all....you just have to inject a little humor into the subject.bobsgirl said:I was always under the impression that it's an incurable character trait. It's a pundamental (groan) part of your personality...

For names, I tend to agree that if we go with something with a slightly more serious tone, it'll slip right to a good mixture between fun and meaningful discussion in no time. I like HT Cafe, but I think something like HT Discussion Circle might be more accurate.

Zergplex said:I definatly like the HT Cafe option. THe Straight Talk and such seems a bit constricting since I know many gays and bisexuals (I'm bisexual myself) post around here and the serious discussions to be held on that board I think would be relevant no matter your orientation. I realise that wasn't the intention of the suggestion, just my thoughts upon seeing it.
Either way I agree 100% that we need a new forum addition! Great job Cathleen and Bobmi (and hello since I havn't seen either of you for awile).

Keep in mind, there is the GBLT board for those with different sexual orientations!

Bobmi357 said:I originally suggested the name Straight Talk because it implied that it was a place for people to talk. While I don't believe in discrimination, I do believe its discriminatory to allow for a Gay/Lesbian section without providing a place for the rest of us.
Frankly if someone places a post in the how to that is more suited to this new subboard (whatever we call it), I'm sure LadyG will move it to the appropriate place. While I'm not saying this section is just for straight people, I'll remind everyone here that there is a clearly marked gay section on this board.
However to keep this from becoming an issue. I'll retract the name Straight talk and say lets just call it the How To Cafe. We are spending time and energy fighting over names and are never going to find one that pleases everyone. And when we do, someone, probably representing the animal screwing portion of the pygmy eskimo population will step up and claim its discriminatory and misleading.
Call it how to cafe and be done with it.
SweetErika said:Fighting? Who's fighting? I'm happy with whatever the majority likes...Cafe, Straight Talk, or otherwise.
Bobmi357 said:No one is fighting yet. But if we left the name in there sooner or later it would start. As the bard said, "A rose by any other name is still a rose", meaning it doesn't really matter what we call it. The content is what will drive the board, not the name. A name is a silly issue to be arguing about. So retracting it removes the possibility of any fights starting.
