Elsewhere, fara observed that we always end up talking about food in my threads. I'll take the compliment with ease.

Food is always a great topic of conversation. I'm trying to figure out sourdough lately. It's not going very well. I've read many articles and threads on other websites and still there is something I'm missing. I'm hoping one day it will all click together.
Have you tried looking at a bakery? I have found most of my sourdough loaves there.
Sadly, I'd probably have to drive an hour or so for a good one. I have done well with other breads using commercial yeast. I've added some of my starter and some commercial yeast to make some decent bread but there is a part of me that really wants to figure it out.
Taking this seriously, I should think that by now about 11 million Americans have tried to learn to make sourdough bread this year. Surely someone has put a solid instructional up on the youtube machine that would help you.
Apparently I'm making popovers with mom tomorrow. I'll bring leftovers to the barn.
I need to try harder to find online sources for goods rather than automatically going to amazon.
It's sad to hear Amazon cut out its hazard pay and that so many people need assistance yet Amazon doubled its profits this year by 24 billion.
They make it really easy to shop though.
Okay, it's time to get down to the hard and potentially polarizing shit, but it's that time of year after all.
If you put up a Christmas tree - and there's nothing wrong with that - how do you light the tree? Incandescent or LED? All white (or other monochromatic scheme) or multi-colored? All the same style of bulbs or a variety? What kind of bulbs (essay answer, graded on both content and wit)?

I'm lazy. My trees come with lights. They're white. I just plug it in. Although my son recently showed me a tree with an app that you could use to make the tree have any colour of lights that you want in any design/combination. Imagine the fun you could have with that!
No tree here, but I'm getting ready to take on a new roommate. I strongly suspect will be some sort of holiday cheer attached.
I would upgrade to LED, but the old incandescent multicolored lights are still working so I can’t justify replacing them. All the same style of bulbs (M5 - the ones with the pointy nipple. They kind of look like a syringe.) and none of that blinking nonsense. [Grinch face]

I get this entirely. But where's the annual avatar approval?
