Yank's Free Range Turkey Trot Warming House and Bondage Barn

Anyone here remember Keroin? Today she posted an amazingly lovely blog post about relationships that just blew me away. She is a phenomenal writer and a fantastic person. Also a great friend. I miss her here but I understand where she is in her live now versus where she was when she posted regularly here several years ago.

Yes, I remember her well and agree about her writing. It’s great to see things work out that way for someone.
Haven’t read her blog for ages though. I’ll see if I can find it.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. I've read her books and stories but the blog is just a whole other level of personal writing. She has a gift for capturing the essence of life in moments that some of us barely notice.

Was she the cucumber story?

No. That was a published author that was on Lit...mostly the How To forum.

I love that one.

I agree. Well written and hilarious.

Just a guess, but "Lunch" by Gwen Masters might hold a particular appeal to women who have been through a divorce or other rather nasty breakup.

I haven't looked recently but there might still be at least one story by Keroin posted here at Lit.

Perhaps why I liked it so much. Wait, wait, I'm sweet not vengeful.

It's still a ways off into the future but I have begun to think about where to break my exile from sit-down restaurants. I want my first dining room meal in what will likely be close to 18 months to be memorable andcworthy of the occasion.

Anyone else doing this? Any specific plans made yet?

We did in late March. We visited our favor Mexican food place and visited a bit with owner and his wife who we had befriended before this mess. Missed seeing them and commiserated over all the staff they had to let go.

Sounds kind of bittersweet. I'm betting you enjoyed the meal, though.

We have restrictions on how large groups are allowed to dine together. There are several slightly larger groups that I long to meet over a nice meal and a few drinks when it’s allowed again.

I have the same situation. It will likely still be a few months before I see certain groups of people again.

We are waiting to see what they do about the restrictions for the summer.
Some are even hoping that the authorities might release official rules for kubb before the vacations start. If they do we will have nothing to argue about when we meet.

I have actually played that game. My nephew made a set and brought it to a family event a few years ago. I recall that I enjoyed myself, but that might possibly have been the refreshments.

My stategy for kubb is the same as for dart, pool and bowling, to drink the opponents down to my level, so refreshments are important. =)

So you play beer Kubb the way collegiates play Beer Pong in the US?

No, I try to be sneaky about it and just keep filling their glasses.:D

The only true drinking game I ever liked was back when everyone smoked, at least at parties. We would fill a glass with alcohol of some sort, wet the rim of the glass and put one layer of paper napkin over the glass. Then we would put a coin on the napkin and take turns burning a hole in the paper with a cigarette. The person who broke the paper had to empty the glass. Totally my game!

Strategy and drinking games never seemed to align for me. The only time I ever played beer pong was at an Ivy League frat house. I lost. Badly. Wanted-to-die badly.

I never saw the point of drinking games. Either drink or play a game or drink while playing a game, but something designed to tell me when I can and can't drink? Especially when, more often than not, the drink the rules were based around was beer? Ill stick to my spirits with either dry or on the rocks (or coke when I was younger and stupider (Yes, thats possible)).
