These are my gut reactions. My mental ones, and talking to G , are. ....is this a temporary infibulation? And for whose purposes primarily? I guess I am curious as well as aware this is most certainly not for me.

And now I'm fascinated by the wide range of responses.

It's just a picture that I spotted elsewhere that I thought might spark a bit of revulsion, fear, and perhaps a bit of conversation.

I should add that I am still pretty damned squeamish about the sight of needles so while play of the sort depicted might appeal as is to some people, I am not among those some people.

For me, aside from any other revolution the aesthetic of the finished result is so unattractive, so ...un-neat. I do not share at all a desire to recreat this, but also I have no admiration for genitalia in general . If I were designing them from scratch I think they would look different. ( and no Midwestyanky, not like kittens ) but I understand the desire sometimes for the sort of smooth depiction sometimes seen in manga ( not something I am overly familiar with but this is something I have been informed about in discussions on this topic before), that smooth nothing but a hole sort of nothing ness is one thing. This messy, wrinklyness is another, to me, in truth is looks a little like decay. I am not saying the former is my ideal either for clarification, just that, I can more understand it.

When I first saw the picture, I really was reminded of my angry peach avatar, and that was what attracted me to it. I'm not a huge fan of the all-smooth look, either.
