~Zen Mountain~

or...

the catapillar that never changes
into a butterfly

knows not that it would have had
wings to rise

that is perfect!!!! :)

Holding my jacket and facing the fragrant peony,
I sense how different our viewpoints are.
Someday our hair will turn gray,
Yet the flowers will be this red each year;
Following the morning dew, each blooms gorgeously
Then their sweet scent is chased by the evening winds.
Why wait till they have withered and fallen
To understand such emptiness?

we watch their hands and learn to do
we read their words and learn to think too

ZMP ~ little thoughts

Spiritual Growth

the catapillar
that never changes
into a butterfly

knows not
that it would have had
wings to rise

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Naked tree
I saw a naked tree today
on the ground
all of its bark laid
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raising thoughts

If you lift your toes when you walk
should we raise our mind while thinking

what happens when the brains not raised
the toe gets stumbed and throbbing

thanks Du for the great review...
I had these laying around and didn't want to loose them
they just seem to be best when I didn't add to them../
these were the poems that were short and sweet and tyo the point ..
creating more thought...as always I appreciate you and
all who support ZMP~ zen mountain poetry
I wouldn't mind seeing more ZMP poetry <grin>

It is too clear and so it is hard to see.
A dunce once searched for a fire with a
lighted lantern.
Had he known what fire was,
He could have cooked his rice much sooner.

I know I have been ignoring my novels
and concentrating on short stories and poetry lately,
need to turn that around ...huh?
novels are the 'porpose', I been playing with the gold fish

One and the same breeze passes
Over the pines on the mountain
And the oak trees in the valley;
And why do they give different notes?

Before I had studied Zen for thirty years, I saw mountains as mountains,
and waters as waters.
When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point
where I saw that mountains are not mountains,
and waters are not waters.
But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest.
For it's just that I see mountains once again as mountains,
and waters once again as waters.

the wind has moved sail to sea
to new adventures and discoveries

turned a wind-mill high on a hill
blowing power for us to instill

wind has helped man for all time
uneducated and with no mind

mountains on high, reshaping the winds
charming the snowbirds, from the highest trees
anchoring the calm from blithering storms eye
haunting calls, eerily echoing chants of freedom

freeing the musical chaos, stampeding the earth
honey mist transcends, love gently glows warmer
relighting loves lantern from long ago times
resurfacing the earths subdivisions sublimely ...

The body is the tree of enlightenment,
The mind like a clear mirror stand;
Time and gain wipe it diligently,
Don't let it gather dust.

time enraptures, wipes away dust,
within passions right hand. hiding it's
fate, holding tight within its left. letting
go of languorous lust ... use these trophy
tools well. shedding the carpet of time,
away with you. passion is all mine ...

:devil: ... :heart: ... :catroar:

ZMP ~ todays water

I watch this river
flow every day

graciously drifting
with the current's sway

The water always
seems the glassy same

but I know its not,
yesterday's rolled away

a day again dawned
as it does everyday

rolling in like a river
the same different day
