How popular is femdom?

I recently wrote a story that has femdom themes and joined this website because I didn’t know what else to do with the story than post it online, however it hasn’t got much traction.

Is femdom popular or unpopular here?

I’m considering how that would effect potential future works.

I think it is popular. I think the Dom (male) / sub (female) is more prevalent.

I think there are forces that suppress the femdom popularity or openness.

What are these forces?

To a certain extent the typical societal gender roles. Men not wanting to admit they are submissive giving the false notion they are “beta” or “weak”.

I think women need to protect themselves here from being overwhelmed.

Fake men on here being more predatory.

I would’ve thought an erotic fiction website would be free of such things. If there is an audience for the genre then it shouldn’t matter.

I agree. And maybe I am way wrong. Just my little observations for whatever they are worth.

Imo

Most men have a FemDom kink whether they admit it or not. Particularly men in the military (in my limited Dominatrix experience, of course).

However, a lot of FemDom is not well received on this site. Too many whiners? Or people who find offense at what get other peoples rocks off.

I kind of believe the same deep down.

Here and in other places, some men seem to respond to the mere idea of a woman having power over them with anger that suggests it’s stirring something they don’t want to admit to. I may be totally wrong.

I’d love to get your eyes on my story if you’ve got time?

This one is from the male’s perspective, but if it gets enough of a response I want to do one from the woman’s perspective.

It ebbs and flows...some days I feel like an orphan, like my kink is inferior.

How do stories get "marketed" here?

When I search for stories, it's using the tag portal. I'm submissive but I don't really search for stories related to D/s, it's more about a specific kink.

Is your audience both men and women? Or more geared for the the Domme? The sub?

Perhaps you can link the story here, or at least the premise and ask for suggestions?

Just kickin' around a few thoughts.

Don't you think it's mostly about the numbers here? There's so few people in the BDSM forum.

Or are you speaking about in general, not just here?

Hi, these are good questions. I've used the tags ass eating, BDSM, bodyscissors, breast smother, facesitting, fem dom, headscissors, mature woman, milf, submission

I don't know if those are good tags or not haha.

As for audience, I don't know. I'd like to think men and women could enjoy it, same as I'd like both sub and domme to. It's from the subs perspective but I still think a domme can enjoy that.

Linking it is a good idea. I was a bit disheartened from doing that because I posted in story feedback and got one response!

Here's the link: https://www.literotica.com/s/please-45

It's about a chance encounter between a mature woman and cocky young man, that becomes a life changing night for him as he is ensnared in her powerful, dominant grasp.

Any suggestions welcome

Here, and you're right, the sample is a small one.

I didn't mean to discount your feelings about it. Whether it's here or out in the world, Female Dom / male sub is definitely in the minority.

Maybe it was the word inferior?

I have a couple dominant girlfriends and they definitely have a harder time cultivating D/s relationships. Wish that wasn't the case for any of you.

As far as FemDom for me is considered. I am all in. I just can’t seem to find a Domme. Perhaps there isn’t a thrill for a Domme to have an online male sub?

It has long been my experience on this site, even in the BDSM talk forum, that femdom is simply not very popular or well accepted, at least by the majority of people who use this site and read erotic fiction. The other dynamic- male dominant/female sub, seems to be far more accepted, and as mentioned, I suspect that is due to the more conservative view of traditional gender roles, as well as the view that men who like to be dominated by women are "Soft" or "Un-manly" or whatever.

I have had experiences where femdom stories I have written for the site got far more "That psycho B***ch!" or "Fag Cuck Shit- one star!" comments than "Wow, that's hot!" comments. Subsequently, I ended up removing most of those stories. Sadly, I think it's just a fact of how the demographic breaks down, and the traditional views of gender roles where people are uncomfortable about seeing those roles reversed.

Like other suggested, a big part is the low number of individuals into it. I can't speak too much to the story side of things, but when I want to read a story I'm looking to satisfy a specific kink or desire. And maybe it's just me, but when I read the stories I want the perspective from the opposite end (the dome, hotwire, etc.) And want her to desire the things I want as a sub. Validation is a big part of submission that can be easily missed in many ways.

Knowing who the author is, and even their gender is helpful. For me at least. Maybe I am being superficial but a FemDom story written by a male isn’t all that appealing.

It does seem to be the case that if one is going to stick with femdom stories, you’ve just got to be prepared for not many people to read, and for some of those that do to be weirdly upset by it

I think either Dom or Domme, there are always more subs than masters. And a good one maintains a good relationship lasting year's; so the window of opportunity is small.

I know when I read a good story, I tend to go look at all the stuff the author wrote to find my next story or six. So to some extent having more is better.especially if they cross multiple genres and styles to have a more broad appeal; But maybe still having a specialty as the bulk.

I'm not into femdom, but do admit having an interest in spanking men with control issues. :)
