The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

The evening coffee is ready.

Chopped briscot sandwiches with tater tots for supper.

It was a pretty day and just right for lounging on the sundeck.

The midnight coffee is ready for any and all in need here at the start of Moanday.

Thank you.
I appreciate it.

I took a "practice test" and got a 42%. :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Guess, I need to study some more.

And do you know what you don't know ?

We got bright weather on a bloody frosty morning.
The hot coffee went down a treat !

Meanwhile, I need more coffee

Thank you.

Tech can be the toughest test. You can walk into a General test just knowing the theory behind radio and pass, but Tech is a whole new world of rules, regulations, and traditions. I was lucky and learned much of that while volunteering to patch phone calls home on HF at the Kunsan Air Base MARS station, that was a ham club distilled down to it's most potent potential.

Keep at it! @Handley_Page was right, you don't know how much you don't know!

Monday Factoid: All mammals hiccup, but scientists have not observed hiccups in reptiles, amphibians, or birds.

Maybe reptiles, amphibians, and birds don't drink enough booze.

I make the Moanday morning coffee.

Breakfast was raisin bran.

I think I've started something. There used to be an automotive repair place down the road but the owner died years ago. I passed by on the way fishing the other day and it is now a boat restoration business.

How are you going to take out the competition?

If Tx needs help I have a few left over ideas for timers and delay elements.

They are not competition for what I do. They seem to be restoring fiberglass bass boats and fiberglass ski boats. Not anything I'm interested in. They might even bring some business to me. The stuf they are working on is high dollar compared to me.

I missed the lunch time coffee but I'll make a pot now to tide people over.

Lunch was grilled cheeseburgers and french fries.

The practice test does give you the correct answer and explanation at the end, so that is good.

I'm not used to failing THAT BADLY at anything.
So when I first saw the score, I immediately got pissed off.
Then I remembered that my FIL and GFIL and most of the people up at the club, actually failed the first time they took it.
Now, they run one of the most popular and asked for clubs in America.

Thank you.
I'll keep studying and taking a few practice tests a day.

@Seadog777 WHEN you pass, if it's by an inch or by a mile, go ahead and take the general test, it will be free. Your brain will be in testing mode so it's not unusual to score really good because you'll soon see the pattern I missed General by 2 and never studied for General.

By the way, the VE's usually don't tell you that you passed until they've completed all their magic and sacrifices and whatever it is that they do, but if they come up and offer the General test without telling you that you passed - you passed.

The pattern I mentioned is almost identical for each question - two of the answer choices will be so insanely wrong they may get you laughing. The two remaining answers both look right, but the difference between them often the wording.

hamstudy.org often gives great clues for the test, something the arrl book doesn't do.

Thanks HP. That's good/not good to hear.

I feel for the district nurses that have to move him around.

Great that Ogg is still with us. Bad about the fall. Hope he recovers quickly.

The evening coffee is ready.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I appreciate it very much.

I'm actually taking the practice tests on hamstudy.org

I bought the new ARRL Study Guide Book in July of last year.
There is honestly, so much useless frakking information in there, it's ridiculous.

Getting my HAM Radio License is one of my major life goals.
I'm going to start working on one of my minor life goals here in a few weeks(hopefully).

All these years later, I have learned this.....

The old school version of Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack, is still creepy as hell to watch alone when it's dark outside.:LOL::LOL:

I'd forgotten how awesome that show was.

For me it's Babylon 5 - I had completely forgotten how INCREDIBLE JMS's tale of universal war and political intrigue was
Thank you Roku and Tubi for bringing back classic, incredible TV shows FOR FREE.

Busy morning so I'm late with the morning coffee.

Biscuits and sausage for breakfast.

I have a buyer for the aluminum boat.

We've had a cropduster buzzing the house this morning. He's evidently using the east-west short runway at the airport east of town, and is spraying a field to the west. Since climbing costs fuel, he's skimming the treetops over the city. Perfectly legal.

C is all excited recalling memories of a boyfriend 40 years ago where they would take his aerobatic-capable plane on short trips for their trysts.

I wonder who is working on doing crop dusting with drones.

The lunch time coffee is ready. Hot, black, and down to earth.

Crop dusting with drones? Would that be agricultural crop dusting or crop dusting the way it is performed by cabin the cabin crew on Sprit Airlines?

Lunch was gas station empanadas and a flat lemon favored beverage, I'm in a hurry to be checked over by a nurse who is itching to put those bandages back on my legs.

Agricultural. I think they are already used for reseeding remote area like after fires.
