Me and a friend was sailing once and got into a thunderstorm. We manage to save us into a harbor before the storm hit us with full power. The forces of the wind is impressive and a bit scary. The wind peaked at 34 m/sek that time. We stood 25m from the water and was sprayed with seawater.The house is old, 123 years, built to last!
The roof is newly thatched - the thatchers were done 5 days ago (- talk about perfect timing!)
We have a wooden stove, and firewood to last a season or two.
I think.. today is an indoor day.. aaaaaalthough....
The waves are going to be more than 5 meters tall.. at the coast!!

Whenever we get hurricanes or big storms, the curiosity gets me as well with checking down by the beach

It can be some rough 24 hours for you. But you seems to have control of the situation. And we who live here in the south of Scandinavia and by the coast are quite use to strong wind and storm.In straight bird-line..

Yes, it is alluring to go out and feel the forces of the wind for a while, and then the heat from the wood stove is very welcome! Hot chocolate (with a dash of rom, optional) with whipped cream on top. A good cheese sandwich with Kvitten marmelad and cuddling infront of the stove.The pictures yesterday.. standing right beside the ocean..
The wind were 25 m/sek - strong, not really advisable.. And yes!! The air was thick with seawater.. We were breathing water!!
But, it was only the beginning.. This storm/hurricane is a long and tedious one!
Today the strength of the wind will be between 28-32 m/sek with gusts reaching above 38 m/sek.
No thunderstorm though

Du snakker også meget godt svensk syntes jeg! Jeg har selv en svensk bonus far, så jeg har selv lært mig lidt som jeg bruger når jeg er i Sverige eller sammen med den svenske del af familien.
