That said I hope you manage a few photos (safely) just to show the power of the storm..

Here in Canada I live in the Great Lakes region, and while we do not have hurricanes, we do get strong gales. The largest lake, Lake Superior is as big as a small sea, and has claimed many vessels.

This song is based on a true story of a ship that challenged the November gales, and was lost with all hands. The shrine is not far from where I live. We respect nature’s fury here.

The warning here is that "Don't go out if it is not necessary and really important". I have to take my youngest to feed and take care of a horse. It's inside but the way there can be an adventure.

In straight bird-line.. - we are 800 meters from the coast!

But yes... Knowing that the waves will be more than 5 meters tall!!
.... My curiosity is probably going to get the better of me today... But!! No walking through the forest, driving!!

... Our little idyllic forest island is located in one of the worst affected areas.. With coastal line directly to the Baltic sea.

Today the strength of the wind will be between 28-32 m/sek with gusts reaching above 38 m/sek.

No thunderstorm though just storm and water surge.

Be careful going out today, you two.

We last had such a storm surge of this calibre
In this part of the country.

I went to the beach!
Obviously..I chose the biggest and safest one!!
There are two rows of dikes,
The biggest is 3 meters tall and 10 meters wide.
They are safe!

Wind burn.. soaked.. the mix of waves hitting me over and over.. And the storm giving extra power to it all.

.. The houses up there, they are all evacuated, sleeping in the sports hall.. among thousands and thousands of people tonight.

Whole city centres have been flooded, a powerplant got flooded! Yes.. There are huge areas without power.

It is that mix, storm with gusts of hurricane levels, an unimaginable storm surge.. And everything in the dark.. And cold, with very heavy rain.

.... I do not really need to experience that again.

Good morning cat! How were your night?
It was ok here. A lot of wind of corse but we went to bed and listened to the weather until we fell asleep.
It doesn't look to bad in my garden. Some broken pots is all that a first inspection find.

I hope the families that got falling trees over them are ok and the damage is only to the cars.

Gray weather with rain today, but the wind is almost gone.

Great news! You didn’t come out totally unscathed, but it could have been worse! Stay warm and dry and I hope the power goes on for those without, and that most people can return home soon.

Sounds like it will be a long clean up.

Thank you! You're very welcome I try to enjoy the beautiful spots there is in my city when I come across them, even if it's during my work. It's important to just take a minute and enjoy it when you can, it gives me so much energy.

I'm sure you have many gorgeous spots in your city as well. If you ever decide to take a trip here, let me know, and I'll share some of my favorite spots with you
