2 weeks until my first half marathon. Training plan has me doing sprint intervals right now....ugh, I'm dead from today's workout.

Mine ran a summer promo, so I joined it and used the lap pool to train for the triathlon I did last month. I just wish they had better hours for the pool and I'd join yearly. Are the community rec centers around you having membership sales? They are around me. I’m planning on getting one. They’re on sale during September. Take a look to see if they are offering deals around you.
Ours is not, but the university rec center is advertising new memberships, especially for families. It's quite expensive to go there though, plus you have to pay for a parking pass since it's on university grounds. Are the community rec centers around you having membership sales? They are around me. Yeah, like DancerBabe, doing yard work, or repairing the car can be a good a solid workout when the gym is just not going to happen. So here's a question: apart from sex, is there any other activity you do to give yourself a workout when you don't feel like hitting the gym? Or anything you do that gives you a workout without it feeling like one?
Asking because I played drums for the first time in ages this week, and I topped out at 180bpm(?!)
Any other workouts that don't feel like one?
I've been working out for years and diet was the biggest factor for any gains or losses.Protein Questions:
Protein consumption is not something I typically worry about, but lately I've been upping my weight workouts. Muscle building seems to require a lot of protein. Far more than I consume. Based on what I've seen, 65-87 grams daily is my target.
No way I can eat that much meat. I do a protein drink, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a 25gram or so hit without meat?
Also curious - how much variance is there in the range?
Based on body type and such. I am tallish, but very small boned. I firm up rather than bulk up. Do I really need that much protein?
Thank you!!!
Dancing is my favorite activity that works up a sweat and doesn't feel like working out. I think that's why I have enjoyed ballet barre and belly dancing over the years. They are both full-body workouts while having fun! I also love a good hike when I'm able to get outside. So here's a question: apart from sex, is there any other activity you do to give yourself a workout when you don't feel like hitting the gym? After seeing your legs a few days ago, I can attest that your calves are in great shape!I worked legs yesterday with focus on ankles and calves to strengthen for derby. I'm itching to get back to the rink this week after missing both nights of practice last week from being sick. Today is cardio day.
The bike shops around me don't do trade-ins.After seeing your legs a few days ago, I can attest that your calves are in great shape!
I’m headed to a bike shop to check out possibly trading in my old bike for an upgrade. Idk if this is even a thing? Do they take trade-ins for bikes?? This is a nice bike, one that shifts itself as you pedal, and hasn’t been used too much, but it’s old and I’m hoping to get something that might make riding a little easier. (Yeah..it’s the bike…it isn’t me, uh huh ).
It likely depends on the shop. There are some in the city here that do and some that don't, it often depends on if they can ascertain that it is not hot (along with condition). It's the most difficult part of buying used bikes these days because the secondary market is full of stolen bikes. Either way, if one shop doesn't, call another one or two and see. After seeing your legs a few days ago, I can attest that your calves are in great shape!

Otherwise, Marketplace/Kijiji/insert free selling place here is a place to sell if you do upgrade and want to move on from your current bike.
PS... It's definitely the bike!
Playing any sport you enjoy. You’re “playing” but afterwards are worn out and sore. Soccer, basketball, surfing, swimming at the beach, rollerblading, mountain biking, hiking, rucking. So here's a question: apart from sex, is there any other activity you do to give yourself a workout when you don't feel like hitting the gym? Isn't that the truth! I need to be better about meal prepping because come mid week I hate myself for not doing it.This is not work out related but similar. There is nothing worse, and later in the week, nothing better than meal prepping work lunches. I dred this so much on Sunday nights but am so thankful later in the week.
Same, I spend Sunday afternoon cooking and can largely relax the rest of the week because of itThis is not work out related but similar.
