🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I had a great derby practice last night. Some of the veteran skaters worked with us on skills and it was fun to have a chance to skate alongside them. My 180 transitions are finally starting to click, which I thought I'd never be able to do! We started learning 360 transitions, which I need to work on because they make me dizzy lol.

We were invited by the league to skate with them during our Pride parade this Saturday and I'm looking forward to that! 🌈

I got to walk with the derby league at our Pride parade this past weekend. I considered skating but the pot holes and brick roads changed my mind lol. It was a good long walk in the sun.

Yesterday I focused on shoulders and then did some yoga to stretch out.

I sweat my ass off at derby practice last night. We worked on multiplayer blocks where you link up with a friend and lean into each other as much as you can and power around the rink with your outside leg. The objective is to create a barrier for an upcoming "Jammer" so they can't get through. We also did weaving pace lines and my quads are still on fire lol. Shit's getting real as we combine our skills into game plays.🛼🛼

I ride my bike all over the city trails. Recently we have had 2 incidents one a crash that killed the biker. The other a shooting along the trail. Has me spooked about the freedom of riding maybe need to find a new place to ride.
Two close together like that can cause anyone to be spooked ... if you have an easy alternative, you might enjoy it more until things settle.

Might also check the specifics about the deaths ... I've not known anyone shot, but have had an acquaintance die on a bike -- found out he was riding on a wet path and had a cheap helmet. I quickly adapted, finding a higher quality helmet than the box-store one I bought cheap and did a fair amount of reading about riding in inclement weather.

Perhaps there are lessons to be learned -- I'd encourage conversations with bicycle community members and local police/EMS folks to see if they have suggestions for riding with care.

I'm slowly making progress and getting stronger.
But today was not a good day at the gym. My ass is sore after Thursdays training and I tried to concentrate on upper body training today. But(t) the pain got through in almost all the exercises since I use free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, barbell and so on).
So now I will do some easy yoga and stretch practice to see if I can ease off the pain. This evening will be filled with Old Mans Moan (Gubbstön in Swedish) for every move I have to make.
