🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Definitely not technically a work out, but I took my kid to a roller rink yesterday because she has a friend's birthday party coming up and she is not confident on wheels at all. So I spent an hour and a half or more (for the first time in 30+ years!!) on skates, watching out, 'coaching', encouraging etc.

She made great progress in her skill and comfort level, and man do I feel it today. A new appreciation for how much work @sallysparrow23 must put in to do that multiple days a week in a much more grueling way.

I was up before the sun, got 10 miles in this morning but averaged just under 15 minutes a mile. I walked a LOT. I just wasn’t feeling it today, but it got done. Happy tomorrow isn’t a running day and maybe I’ll try to get motivated again with a baby run on Monday 🫠
Wait a minute!!
How did I miss this??? @FunLi walking in here like this saying “I just ran 10 miles?!?!” That is amazing and incredible!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!! That’s huge!!

Alright. Back to a fitness routine, and each time I circle back to it I feel like I understand more about how to find good goals and how to get there.

But I'm also a stubborn motherfucker, and I want my 10 pullups, clean, no bullshit. I am presently on 4.5 :D
I’m in awe of anyone who can do clean pull-ups…!

Pull ups are tough. You loose them way faster than you gain them. Daily reps help. Greasing the wheel. Lots of pull up videos on YouTube with program ideas. 10 is a very solid goal. Keep it up. 💪🏻

I did an hour long inversion Pilates class today.

(Basically most of it was upside down work)

It totally kicked my ass and I feel so crushed. I’ve been working up to it for years (!!!) and it was so much harder than anything I’ve done.

Not going to give up but I really want to. 😓😩🫠
You may have felt crushed but I promise you that you crushed it. One thing I've learned is we are all a lot stronger than what our minds try to trick us into believing.

I just completed my first ever half marathon, 13.12 miles! This is my longest run ever. After replacing my ACL in both knees before I was 24, I would have never thought I'd be out here running a half marathon. But to my surprise, I kicked it's ass this morning and only missed my goal time by 1 minute.
Congrats. You should be proud of your hard work and accomplishment!

I've always been a skinny guy in the gym, but since putting on some muscle I get props from the bigger guys. Last week I was doing dumbbell chest workouts, and from the mirror I saw the surprise and then nod of approval from two taller guys benching less than me.

Now I can finally stop lifting forever and deteriorate into my old skinny self 😜

Honestly, where I work out is really awesome. It's a fitness club that mainly has 50-70 year olds who have been going to that gym for over 20 years. It was recently bought out, and the new equipment and marketing is focused on a younger market, but they still don't alienate their older clientele.

You'll see young guys and old guys talking between weight sets or in the sauna, and muscular or not, everyone is friendly if you reach out to talk to them.

It's funny, guys will be going to the gym to try and look better to grab the attention of women/men, but we just end up having other gym guys admire how big or strong one has become lol. You guys are def right about the gym community though...always supportive and helpful towards one another.

Anyway, been slacking and putting on some winter weight. Need to get back on track. Keep killin' in ppl.

I'm heading to the mountains this December for some skiing and sadly my snow pants don't fit lol. 🙈 I'm making it a goal to lose enough weight before mid December so I don't have to buy new ones again. I've got a pretty solid workout regimen, now it's time to clean up my nutrition. I've been stress eating lately.

Gym can’t undo what the kitchen destroys, for sure. I lost a lot of weight just watching my diet better
