🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Today needs to be a day off! After two straight days of lifting, I’ve never been so sore in my life.
Yesterday was back, biceps, additional core and light cardio.
At some point today I will probably hit the Peloton for 20 minutes just to get something in. I’m also playing basketball with the guys after work today. So, I’m still going!
I’m down 10 pounds so far this year!!

Got a few good miles in on the bike yesterday, and will find today for some planks and other body-weight exercises. Keep up the good work everyone!

😘

Planks paired with some squatting.

Depending on how stable your planks are.. then - when you do them on your forearms; try to lift on leg at a time, counting to 10-15 slowly, before putting it down.
You do not have to lift high!! Just 2 inches over ground is perfect.

🍀

The negative resistance of just holding that position will tone you up in a hurry too.

It is rather efficient.
Definitely one of my many favourite exercises 🥰🍀
Negative resistance is powerful stuff. It's also cheap and easy to do and you can do it literally anywhere.

Waiting in line... sitting at your desk...watching TV.... leaning over someone's naked body to see how long you can hold your hand exactly 1 inch off her skin (that last one is both a physical exercise and a mental one 😄)

I still go to the gym everyday. Just got home from there today.

I need to go walk the race route on days the weather is nice enough.

I'm working toward another 5k and while on vacation kept up with running and yoga. I can run 2 miles in 24 minutes, which is a first! I'm hoping to run 2.5 today but outside and not on a treadmill.
Any advice to someone new to 5Ks?

Today I walked 2.6 miles. Should be at 3.1 on Friday; two weeks ahead of my event. And working to get my speed higher. THAT IS NOT GOING WELL

First, I love this thread. It’s really keeping me motivated.

I’ve been to the gym 4 days this week!
I’m starting to feel much better about myself. I upped my bike warm up to 10 minutes vs the 5 the first three days. Hit the weights again for an hour. Incorporating core exercises in every day. My goal is to be down 25 lbs more by Memorial Day weekend. That’s basically 2 lbs per week in March April and May! I think that’s ambitious and doable.

I love this!! That is a very doable goals as long as you stick with it. You can do it!
I’ve talked to so many trainers and researched so much at this point I’m very conflicted on my approach this time.
The first time I lost weight, I focused on heavy cardio. 40-60 minutes on bikes, mixed in with short sprints on the treadmill.
Then I hit the weights in combo. I was spending almost 2 to 3 hours in the gym.
I don’t have that time anymore. So, I’m trying to build more muscle. Speed up my metabolism, up my protein, while still trying to be in a calorie deficit.
I was told with my lifestyle I do entirely too much cardio and it’s working against me. I’m trusting the trainers and the things I’ve been researching.
Only time will tell!

Yesterday I walked 2.7 miles.

This morning I warmed up on the elliptical, did core conditioning and upper body lifting.

Maybe tonight I’ll go back to walk 2.8 miles.

Let’s see
Yesterday I hit the elliptical for 15, stretched, walked 30, stretched more. By the end of the night from getting in and out of the hotel, basketball game and boozing, I did have my 10,000 steps.

Today I walked an hour getting 2.8 miles in. Hopefully sweated all the 🥃 out. I’m considering going on an alcohol fast for 2 weeks until the 5k. Of course…I’m not considering it too seriously

Cutting out alcohol will help a lot!

Totally slacked on the boards last week. Life issues. You know like work and kids and stuff.
However I didn’t let that stop me. I managed to get to the gym 4 times last week!! I’m starting to up my cardio! I go back and forth on what I should do, lifting is so much fun, but the cardio is going to burn more calories. Still trying to find the right balance without doing to much cardio.
So far with my benching I feel my man boobs starting to flatten out at the top already 🤣😂

I got off track with core and weights for a few weeks for a few reasons. Back on track. I always keep up with walking though. Two days last week of 10k+ steps.
