1. My step goal is 10,000 steps
2. I walk on wooded trails that surround my neighborhood.
3. Walking in a forest in Alaska where they filmed the Ewok scenes in Star Wars was memorable. Beautiful scenery. No Ewoks though.
4. I wear Brooks. I like they’re roomy around my toes. Very comfy. And I got some on sale yesterday. And they’re pink. It was meant to be. 🩷

I’m off for my walk! Good luck today!

I need a new pair.
 
1. I've never had a step goal but I'll shoot for 10,000, that seems like a good number.

2. I don't usually walk, but I rollerblade on a 13-mile paved trail that runs through heavy woods and open fields. I try to get out there at least twice a week but if I'm walking instead, I can shoot for three days.

3. Probably either the Muir Redwood Forest, or Killarney National Forest.

4. I prefer barefoot shoes and am partial to Lems. I like that they are wide so your toes can spread naturally, and I think they're really comfortable and light weight.

@sallysparrow23 I feel like I have learned so much from you! You have really helpful recommendations. The other day you talked about different smoothie recipes and apps; you’re such a great resource for this thread. Thank you so much!

I'm glad that what I've shared has been helpful! Everything I've learned was passed on to me from others or learned from experience, so I'm just spreading it along. I love the support and positivity here. ❤️
 
1. 10,000 is my regular goal.
2. There is a bike path near my home I will often walk or just the country roads. Or when I want a change of scenery there are several nearby parks or nature preserves I enjoy.
3. Had plenty of memorable walks in NYC or along the beaches of Costa Rica. But generally my favorites are mountain trails.
4. Right now I have been sporting the Saucony running shoes. But just finished a pair of Brooks not long ago.

Bonus
 
1) I don't really have a step goal. I have movement goals, set to 30 minutes daily on my watch of actual exercise, but often exceed that (and some days don't!)
2) Anywhere, really. I prefer public transport and biking to driving, so that lends itself to some more walking and I like that. If it's within a 20-30 minute walk, I'm walking there. If I'm heading out for a specific route, it is usually a run.
3) Likely the Cliffs of Moher, but many wonderful cities spring to mind.
4) Runners with a neutral set up and good cushioning. I do prefer Nike, mostly because I know the styles and size that will fit perfectly. I'm all over the map with sneakers, you'll find many different brands in my closet, but heading out to run/walk, usually Nike.
5) I feel like the bonus was made for me, but I'll keep it to two that hit my movement playlists often...

I've taken up running again & after a couple of weeks of only doing a mile run (3 days a week) i hit 2.5 miles this morning! i'm not fast but the movement has been good for my body and i do love sweating (even though i sweat all of the time, anyways). Doing my best to stay ahead on stretching and keeping my hips in good condition but it's always a challenge. I'll have to take a break today to focus on getting these muscles stretched out and taken care of but feeling pretty good about this little journey over the past couple of months and hoping to keep it mindful and present over the fall & winter.

I have finally worked up to 10,000 steps a day. Making some simple adjustments make it easy to hit the goal. I made a lot of adjustments while at home. If I put something in the microwave for 2 minutes I walk until it is done. While I wait on my coffee I walk. Adding a daily walking routine on top of that made it much easier to hit 10,000 a day. 😀

I just did this a little while ago while making a cup of coffee, great idea!

On a side-note, did anyone here ever try a Thigh Master? I feel like we have had so many exercise fad gadgets over the years. Which ones do you remember? Do you use any? Is there something that you’d recommend?
