🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I don't have a step count.
But I do have a daily movement goal (no less than 10min 2x/day and up to 45min/day) since my job keeps me in one place for several hours at a time.
I also stand for part of my day (I love my standing desk).
And since I started a new work schedule on the 1st, I have so far managed to move each day...a couple of walks outside and exercise videos. I have to vary what I do or I'll quit. I hate exercising.
I don't have an exercise partner, so I have to do what I can to keep myself motivated...
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Good morning, and happy Friday!

Do you have a workout partner?
When I started biking, I started with a buddy and likely wouldn't have otherwise. Pandemic has changed both of our schedules, so it's not as often, but we still have that accountability with each other and it became habit that we both keep up.

For running, it's on my own. I have a friend who gives me tips that I'll run with from time to time, but all that accountability comes through text and not actually meeting for a run. Besides, the best part of running is suffering out there with your own thoughts, right?
Do you like to go to group classes?
I used to. I'm far more inclined to attend a group class than to go use the machines at the gym.
Or do you prefer to workout alone?
At the gym, no. I find it easier with someone because I've no clue what I'm doing with the gear. But I'm not much of a gym guy, more of an activity guy.

I'm learning ways to keep myself accountable without partnering up for the activity itself, something this thread is very helpful with.

How are you all doing? My step count goal of 10,000 has been hit or miss. I am doing a lot better at adjusting my schedule so that I walk early in the morning to get some steps in before my day really starts, but I haven't always hit my goal. I come close--usually between 8,000 and 10,000. I need to do better! But I do count the consistency in getting up and out early will really serve me well.

My step goal had been good for the most part. Barely missed it on one day but have exceeded it the rest of the days.
Like you, I’ve had to change my routine some to force it to happen. But always glad that I have made the change when my watch clicks past 10,000 late in the day.

I am ranging between 8-9000 steps but that didn't happen yesterday. I'm sure I'll hit that today before 1pm when heading to the airport 🙃

I incorporate abs in most every workout but I hate crunches. I'll do plank holds or other exercises to make it feel less like ab focused work.

Have a happy, sweaty Saturday!

Have a wonderful trip, @sallysparrow23 !

Today is "Sit up Saturday". Do you do an ab workout? How often? If it is something other than sit ups, what do you do?
When I was doing group classes (P90X baby), the only thing I really liked about the core section was that you got to lay on the floor for a minute. 😂

But if you made me choose my favourite, give me some plank jacks (that sounds dirty). I'm not sure they actually focus on abs (note that I didn't just do some to find out), but they were my favourite of that hell. Maybe mountain climbers? Oh, Turkish get ups are always a good* time too.

*I use good loosely.

I'll be headed out the door to walk here as soon as I've finished my coffee...
It'll be a short, once around the neighborhood one because 90% humidity and just...nope.
I also feel like a Yoga with Adriene video will come into play sometime today...

Movement goal already hit this morning, so I'm sticking to that schedule from day one. Positives. Yesterday was pretty miss, I took rest day far too seriously. 😂

I'm off to beat the living shit outta some people. It's sparing day.

Doing well so far! Goal was 10,000 a day and have hit that each day. LB I took what you said the other day about hitting a certain amount before leaving for work, that has helped a lot, especially with this heat. Today might be a challenge though because I slept way too late 😬
