Yeaaaaa. I am glad you took it easy and had a coach watching you. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿค—

I do not want to injure myself further - and, I know myself well... I am terribly impatient, when it comes to working out.

So, I need to play it safe, actually.. Safer than safe, and.. my coach knows me well too, so she is constantly laughing, and telling me to slow down.

(On the other hand.. she made me do 60 push-ups today. ๐Ÿ˜…)

I was influenced by @Shenanigans90 to start running again since he's been running lately too. After sitting in front of my computer all day today during a lecture I had to get out, and successfully ran 2 miles after not running since March.

I did my first... Admittedly, very careful, very gentle.. But still:

I ran for the first time after the tendon rupture!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿคฉ
It was an extremely short run, on the treadmill, with a coach observing. ๐Ÿคฃ But nevertheless, I ran!!
I am not to walk bare feet, at all, my tendon cannot handle that kind of pressure.

But, progress is progress!

Wuhuuuuuuuuuu!!!!! ๐Ÿฅณ
Aaron Rodgers is on lit?

I'm still have my run twice a week. I'm improving but today was not good at all! 2/3 into the run I almost had a calf cramp. I stopped and stretched the calf, both of them as I stood still anyway. I tried to run what was left of the distance but my calf wouldn't play along with me, so I had to walk home. :( Now I'm resting and stretching. A good massage from my wife will hopefully help too. :)

Got involuntarily sweaty today when the school surprised me with 2 afternoon gym classes to sub for. In jeans and a button-down (I was supposed to be in biology labs all day). I was not dressed the part, and now I feel all sticky and gross.

Winter can't get here soon enough.

Did a 13 mile organized mountain bike ride yesterday. It was fun but painful, sooo much climbing. How's everybody's goals for Oct going?

My fitness program is going well, which surprises me. On days I don't work, I walk 80 minutes. Twice a week I resistance train, upper & lower body, with core exercise session. I guess my frozen shoulder is in remission. My diet is abt 90% whole food/plant based. No joint/muscle pain for a while. Knock on wood. I've been drinking a lot of different teas, although I am trying to keep it to 3-4 cups a day.

I'm back in PT this week, so dry needling last night, and that's really helped for my knee pain. I'm excited to increase my mobility.

I wanted to bring this back.
Itโ€™s been a rough year all around. My weight has been a yoyo. Good for a month and terrible for many.
I finally got tired and decided to do something about it again.

I always knew diet/lifestyle change is 80% of my battle. Iโ€™m pretty active. Gym, golf, basketball and other sports for a late 40 year old, but I kept consuming Miller and Buds and eating a steady diet of pizza, pasta, and burgers.

Since early September, Iโ€™ve lost 20 lbs. Iโ€™m eating healthy again and cut beer and soda out of my diet. Iโ€™m also working out almost two hours a day again. Lifting for an hour and then later in the day or night hitting cardio for 40-60 minute stints. The last two weeks Iโ€™ve really seen and felt a difference in my belt buckle. Moved a hole to the right!

I have a long way to go still, but I just felt like coming back and posting. Iโ€™d love to hear about everyoneโ€™s programs and battles again and keep this positive for everyone.

Thanks for bringing back this thread! I lost my motivation over the last few months. I have to change up my routine now that rollerblade season is over for me.

I'm running a 5k in a few weeks with a friend so I'm working up to that since it's been a while since I've run. Finally time to take advantage of my gym membership and use a treadmill. ๐Ÿ˜’ It's too cold outside to run right now.

Aside from that I'm going to focus on low impact strength and flexibility over the winter and my diet is getting an overall after gaining ten pounds in the last few months. Time to get my shit together.

....

Thanks for sharing.

I got serious again in late July, shortly after a pretty strong warning from my physician and a sudden silence about my weight from my spouse. I was about 10 pounds below the most I'd ever weighed.

Serious effort focused on better eating has been my main approach. I'm down almost 20 pounds since then. The first ten was easy. The next ten has been a grind. I figure the next 10 during the holiday season is going to be difficult, at best, so am starting back up at a gym and won't be having desserts unless I've done at least an hour of exercise.

The goal is to be down AT LEAST another 20 before my summer visit to the physician, and I'd really like to be be down 50 (a pound a week). We'll see.

Yay! It's good to see people posting here again. I've been doing aggressive PT for my right knee for the last couple of months and have really just now been able to get back on my bicycle. Good news is that the PT is doing awesome things for my ass LOL

Well, I did it. I got my ass out of bed on my day off, drove to the gym, and ran three miles. I'm going to feel it later today, tomorrow, and the next day, lol, but damn it felt good to get a good sweat.

I got to thinking as I was running about mixing up my running music playlist. What kind of music do you listen to while working out? Do you have a playlist and does it vary depending on what you're doing? I have a rollerblading playlist but it doesn't transfer well over to running for me. Today I was listening to a lot of rap, the filthier the better lol.

Where do I begins with this!!!

First, I hit the gym for an hour this AM before work. Chest, Triceps, Shoulders and a little core, followed by 20 min in the sauna. In a half hour, my goal is to hit the station bike for 40-60 minute. That can be anywhere between 10-16 miles depending on the length of ride.

@sallysparrow23, I love music and have multiple playlist for the gym and working out. Sometimes I just hit shuffle, but most of the time I go hard and heavy. A buddy told me to lift angry. LOL!

Here are the starts of my workout and heavy lifting playlists (PS, this will age me):

Workout: Closer to the Edge/30 Seconds to Mars, Seven Nation Army/White Stripes, Thunderstruck-AC/DC, Hail to the King/Avenged Sevenfold, Immigrant Song/Led Zepplin, What Iโ€™ve Done/Linkin Park, For Whom The Bell Tolls/Metallica, Rainbow in the Dark/Dio, Break Stuff/Limp Biscuit, More Human Than Human/White Zombie, Dracula/Rob Zombie, Wash it all Away/Five Finger Death Punch, I Canโ€™t Be The Only One/Killswitch Engage, Donโ€™t Fear The Reaper/Leo Metal Cover, Attack/30 Seconds to Mars, The Trooper/Iron Maiden, This Means War/Avenged Sevenfold, You Want A Battle (Hereโ€™s a War)/Bullet for my Valentine, A War You Cannot Win/All That Remains, Danger Zone/No Resolve Metal Cover, Faint/Linkin Park, Time Bomb/Hollywood Undead, Undefeated/Skillet

Heavy: Master of Puppets/Metallica, Symphony of Destruction/Megadeth, Yโ€™all Want a Single/Korn, Du Hast/Rammstein, Sleep Now in the Fire/Rage Against The Machine, Paranoid/Avenged Sevenfold Cover, Shout at the Devil/Motley Crue, Hallowed be thy Name/Iron Maiden, One Shot at Glory/Judas Priest, Man In The Box/Alice in Chains, Smells Like Teen Spirt/Nirvana, Bodies/Drowning Pool, BYOB/System of a Down, and a lot of songs from the top.

And then there are days I go country and 90s and Early 2000s rap/hip-hop like Dr. Dre, Eminem, Lil Jon, etc.

Yah winter has officially set it which killed my running routine. Iโ€™m going to deactivate my gym membership mid Dec when once Iโ€™m done traveling. My schedule has been all over the place.

Another 55 minute bike ride this AM. Also did 30 minutes of stretching.
im not used to these super early am workouts. I had a brutal work schedule today and tomorrow so I needed to get it in early tomorrow is my scheduled rest and recovery day.
I try and go 3 days on, rest, then two or three days on again before another rest day. Thatโ€™s in a perfect world where life doesnโ€™t get in the way

Just finished a week with the mouse lots of walking but way too much food.

Gym time of the year here.

Forgot that I'm running a 5k on Sunday so running is on the agenda this week. Not too much, but I want to have some sort of conditioning before running with a silly holiday outfit on.
You going to post any pics of the silly holiday outfit for us? :)
