Been doing the gym. Mostly the eliptical. Working on my eating. I'm cutting out starches and sugars. Definitely helps.
Peace out!

Yes. At least for running. Rain is enjoyable to run it, but too cold kicks up my asthma. Extreme heat is just a plain ole health hazard. I never run outside if it's above 95°F and prefer not to above 90°F.
Huh. Perhaps it's a matter of what you're used to? I'm on the Texas coast, and the humidity here is incredibly high during the summer. (Often the winter, too. ) The cold air of winter - if we have one - just tightens up my lungs.
I . . . really am going to have to start doing this at some point.
Wow. That all looks so high tech! I just elevate with an injury. Now I realize I'm a complete slacker.
(Sorry about the ankle. )
Tape and hmmmm the tube is heat gel?Congrats!!
The whole roller derby is a crazy thing in its own, but you are doing it!!
In my eyes, you might be one of the most fearless and impressive people I know!
Myself? - it was a floor training kinda day for me. My ankle was being obnoxious.
Well you just made me blush . I love the intensity and challenge. I love leaving the rink sweating through my clothes. I love skating with other badass women. All around good times Thank you.Congrats!!

That is fabulous, you've put in the hard work and got so much out of it, well done my friend.Last night I had my skill assessments at roller derby and I've officially moved up to level two training.
I'm so proud of myself and of the women I'm training with. We've come a long way, and now we get to start knocking each other down. We were on the rink skating last night for two hours and I'm wiped out this morning. After assessments we started working on weaving in and out of cones, and lateral jumping which I thought looked scary as hell but turned out to be not so bad. In a few more weeks we'll be assessed and if we pass we make the team. Here we go!
I will look at the weather on rainy days to see if shifting the time of my run will be beneficial or maybe even swap rest days if it's going to be horrible, but consistency is the most important thing, so only if it can still get done in a time that makes sense.Continuing along the foul weather train of thought, do you let the weather influence your workout or do you just plod on, rain or shine? (I suppose if you’re always indoors for workouts, this might not apply.).
I did 7 miles this evening in 89% humidity but kept an average pace of just under 17 minutes which is a huge deal for me for that length of time and just up and down hills in the humid trenches in general…however, I won’t be doing that again anytime soon
Ill be in the air conditioned gym on Monday.
What do you think? Was any part of your clothing *not* sticking to you?
I think anyone would be…I would be more active if I had @sallysparrow23 and/or @Love_Is_Blonde as my workout buddies
I tried yoga and nearly died on the "amateur " setting.I wish I liked lifting weights more than I do. But I'm giving it another go. Also want to get my yoga routine going again.
I did DDP Yoga for awhile and loved it. It's more workout based than traditional yoga. I completely healed my stiff back and even a few years later I can still do the stretches. I had a weight routine pre-covid. It's good but you have to stay on top of it.I tried yoga and nearly died on the "amateur " setting.
I should try weights
I first read this as DP Yoga and was so confusedI did DDP Yoga for awhile and loved it. It's more workout based than traditional yoga. Haha oh yeah definitely not DP. Unless I'm doing it wrong.I first read this as DP Yoga and was so confused
I did a hot yoga class once. That was my first and last time. I did Pilates in high school, though, and always enjoyed it.
My understanding has always been aim for 1-1.5 gram of protein per pound of your target body weight.Protein Questions:
Protein consumption is not something I typically worry about, but lately I've been upping my weight workouts. Muscle building seems to require a lot of protein. Far more than I consume. Based on what I've seen, 65-87 grams daily is my target.
No way I can eat that much meat. I do a protein drink, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a 25gram or so hit without meat?
Also curious - how much variance is there in the range?
Based on body type and such. I am tallish, but very small boned. I firm up rather than bulk up. Do I really need that much protein?
Thank you!!!
