The thing I like best about the Survivor contest is that it encourages me to write in different categories than I normally would. Don't you think that's kinda cool?

I've really enjoyed stretching my brain in this contest (despite the two-month bout of writer's block with which I've been dealing). Categories that I thought would be almost impossible for me have turned out to be fairly easy, like Incest, while categories that I thought would be easy, like Sci Fi/Fantasy, have turned my brain into ashes trying to think of something coherent to write.

Lady, Gay Male turned out to be a good category for me too; one of the chapters of my Gay Male romance story garnered me the highest rating of anything I've written. I might keep writing in that category after the contest; it got to be kind of fun.

Helpful tip on candle wax: Don't use birthday cake candles. Ever. I haven't personally experienced it, but at a party I held, one of my guests was extolling the virtues of having hot wax dribbled down his back; we handed him some birthday cake candles and he found a couple of willing women to wax him. (Not hard for him; the man is HOTTTTT.) Unfortunately, birthday candle wax gets a little too hot. He still has scars, four months later.
