In the beginning, I was against this war, like many paleoconservatives were.

Never go to war unless it's in your national interest. It wasn't in our national interest that Saddam was killing Kurds and whoever.

The war itself was a noble war.... kill Saddam, unite the Sunnis and Shia's, and bingo, we have a democracy.

The fuckup (among other things) was that we didn't understand Islamic culture....now we're caught between a rock and a hardplace.
