So what do tou call it if you are writing about you but you didn't really do it and didn't even think of it till you wrote it but youd like to try it if you could find someone who didn't mind the lime jello and cole slaw all over the cedar chest and the horse is the real main character of the story?

Sounds interesting. I am just finishing "Texas Two Step" but unfortunately no cole slaw or jello. Where did I go wrong?
You went to the wrong family reunionI think but thats ok I do that all the time cause sometimes its nice to just try other peoples food and stuff and I think if homeless people did that they wouldn't be hungry all the time and begging for money outside the club after I already put all my tips away and stuff.

You do like lime jello and cole slaw dont you? I think their great especially when you mix 'em together and stuff but Buffy thats my horse wont touch coleslaw.

Funny how that happens

You know, I'll be glad to welcome you to the AH once you lose the attitude.

No one here is any "better" than anyone else, and you're not likely to make many friends with that kind of attitude coming in.

Everybody back to your corners and don't come out until you've written an essay explaining third person limited point of view.

Well, there is more than one type of 3rd person. Sometimes 3rd can feel very simliar to 1st, just no I's..

3rd person can be written from the view of one character but by a narrator. It can also switch between characters telling the story, or just be an omni-knowledgable presence that knows the thoughts of different characters..

Etc etc..

I'm not sure if it's different types of third person, or just third person with different perspectives, but there are more than two "types" of third person.

Most can probably be classified as either "omniscient" or "limited" but there is a whole range of variation between totally omniscient -- like God is the narrator and knows everything -- and totally limited -- the narrator is hiding in a corner of one character's mind.

The choice of POV (and perspective) is difficult for many amateur authors, or more precisely, sticking to the POV/Perspective they started with, because they generally dont really think about it.

I tend to think of Third Person POV as a story being told by a "Watcher." "Watchers" have varying degrees of ability in telepathy and telepresence, and some can be in more than one place at the same time.

Some"Watchers" have a personality and some have as much personality as a security camera.

Choosing the right "watcher" to narrate the story can be crucial to maintaining a balance between suspense and explaining what's going on -- not a critical concern for most erotica but a key element in mixing Mystery or other genres into erotica successfully.

Knowing the terminology is less critical to writing a story than it is to discussing/editing a story -- Without a common understanding of the terminlogy, it's difficult to communicate about problems related to POV/Perspective.
