A Pirates Life for Me. (IC)

"I will interrogate the prisoners, I had not expected this to happen so soon. Misread the skeins I have." One-eye said as he left the galley and headed to the brig. He sent the guards off to find other crew members, and moved over to the first cell. "Where is she? Where is Lumara?" he asked the first insistently.

Max was already in the brig and just waiting starting to apply the antidote to the paralyzed guy when One-eye came in and started to ask questions.

"I don't think you'll be able to get much out of them just yet," said Max. "Two of them are still out like a light, and this one here," Max indicated the Riada in front of him, "still needs a little time to recover from a chemically induced paralysis. But he'll be able to answer questions before the other two can."

"Attend to gathering the crew Max, I shall handle the interrogation. They will be most cooperative." One-eye said.

Max looked at One-eye with an expressionless face.

"Unless I am mistaken, One-eye, you have already sent out members of my security team to find the other crew members. They will be able to recognize the crew better than I. Besides, this is my brig and these are my prisoners. You're more than welcome to do the interrogation, but I will supervise," Max stated flatly. He was not one to be told what to do by a "consular," be he the captain's mentor or not.

One-eye was becoming annoyed, how dare a godless barariku address him so. "I neither need, nor desire, your supervision drogu ba'ardin! I was a warrior full-grown, when you were a hatchling struggling for warmth. My sword is older then you, Now leave me be so i may concentrate and take from these trik ba'ad zarku the information we desire." he said firmly.

Max rose to his full height, his expression blank, but a fire starting to building in his eyes. He was eye to eye with One-eye, and he had the stubbornness of the Basilisks on his side. He would not back down on his own free will. One-eye used a few words to address Max that Max didn't, nor cared to, know. But he could guess that they were insults. No one insulted one as powerful as Max, and died unrepentant.

"You may not need nor desire my supervision, biped, but you will have it nonetheless," stated Max, is voice as flat as ever, but with an undertone of menance. "You need not think on my presence, but I will still be here. No one, I mean no one, gives me orders."

One-eye's hand left hand went to the hilt of his kaolun. "Do not presume to threaten me serpent-king. I know of your kind, when you were a youngling i killed my first of your brethren. I am second-mate, and would have been first if i had wished it so. i have lived near nine hundred years, and have yet to meet my equal in battle, i hardly think that it will be you. You may listen outside but you will not be suffered inside to witness the secret arts."

Max tensed, ready to strike in the blink of an eye, as One-eye's hand went to the hilt of his sword. One-eye may be good with a blade, but at such close range, he wouldn't be able to get out of his own way if Max struck.

Then One-eye mentioned killing one of Max's brethren. For any other Basilisk but Max, that would have provoked a strike instantly. But for Max, all it did was get the fire in his eyes burning all the more fiercely. Part of why Max did not strike instantly was because, if One-eye did truly know of Max's kind, then he would know that he was in serious danger that he could not evade.

But Max held back, his rational mind working hard. Although the fire in his eyes raged, Max's voice was still flat, but had lost the undertone of menance.

"One-eye, we are both held in high honor and regard by our own kind, and it is up to us to uphold that honor. But it is not yet time for either of us to die," said Max. "Therefore, I will leave you be, not because you want, but because I respect the secret arts."

Max turned to leave the brig, but at the door he paused. "By your words, you have hunted my kind in the past. That is an unforgivable crime that I will not forget."

Then Max was gone, but not before he had placed one of his companions in a vent just opposite of where One-eye stood to interrogate the prisoner. Whatever One-eye did, Max would know.

The basilisk underrated him greatly, that much was clear. Like everyone else he saw only a one-eyed old jahad. No matter. One-eye heard what max said and merely replied. "He was the hunter, i was the saviour." One-eye said without turning to look, relaxing his grip on the kaolun. One-eye placed the prisoner in a seat and placed his hands on the sides of his head. He reached out with his ki, touching that of the prisoners mind, his thoughts extended before One-eye and he issued his commands to the soul of this man. Hear and accept! I am Rengakus Sakiyasilic Baradone'naya'gall, and you will obey me! his mind roared.

"You're dead." Ren said to the being who looked so much like his sister. But it couldnt be her. She had died on Ogdru.

"Mother got me on a transport out. Father had already fallen in the battle."
"A transport escaped? Was Baryn with you?"
"He had gone off to fight, I dont know if he was killed in battle or afterwards."

Ren's eyes began to water, a sensation he had not felt in some time. "Little Baryn, a warrior? I hope he gave them hell." Ren said, a tear rolling down his cheek. He broke down, falling to his knees and embracing his sister. "I am so sorry Lumara, I tried, I fought, we scrapped two PGC frigates and 3 Kreeyar gunships, and who knows how many fighters. They were too many, almost all of my men died in battle, only about 20 survived and we were taken in PGC boarding action. A stun blast caught me. My men had never fought so valiantly, I have never killed so many as i did when they boarded. But it wasnt enough, I couldnt save our home, i couldnt save our family, i couldnt save little Baryn. I wasnt strong enough." he said sobbing.

As Cale walked back to the ship he could not help but notice that he was being followed by the same Ctarl Ctarl female that he had helped earlier. He wanted to see if she would be able to follow him if he tried to lose her but he wondered if he would need the help and she would probably be the best person to do it. He decided to not lose her and walked as quickly as he could to the ship.

As soon as he got there he noticed the total confusion that was in the air and almost ran up the ramp. When he got into the ship he noticed one of his people standing there and walked up to him.

"What has happened?"

"The captain has been captured by the PGC. We don't know where he is but we do know he is still on the planet. We were going to go out and look for him-"

Cale raised a hand.

"It is probably not the best thing to do. If we all go out looking for him we will probably end up destroying the station before it is over. It would probably be best if I go out and look for him by myself. I know that it is foolish but maybe I can find him and tell everyone where he is."

He turned quickly and walked out of the compartment and back down the ramp just to see the Ctarl Ctarl standing there as if waiting for him.

He walked straihgt towards her.

"I know that you have no reason to trust me but I need your help with something. My captain has been captured by some members of the PGC and being held somewhere in this station. Can you help me to find him?"

Max slithered out of under the ship near the ramp in time to hear the big Sarconian that they had rescued from the Kreeyar ship talking to some cat woman. The Sarconian had his information mixed up, undoubtly because the crew had yet to be officially told what had happened, and therefore there were stories buzzing about, most of them false.

"You will not find the captain here," Max hissed as he slithered closer. "Your information is only partially correct."

Max raised himself up as he stopped a few feet away from the pair of them. "And does she have clearance to be here?" asked Max, indicating the cat woman.

"I know that you have no reason to trust me but I need your help with something. My captain has been captured by some members of the PGC and being held somewhere in this station. Can you help me to find him?"

Larinya's eyebrows shot to the roof and then she smiled, "Oh..." she purred, playing up to the large sarconian who had been rather gallant before, "It depends... how much are you willing to pay for my help?" she asked...

And was promptly interrupted by a rather large (there never seemed to be small ones) basilisk. Her eyebrows shot up again, "Clearance? Who are you to ask such a thing, Snake?" she sneered, her hand inching towards the pulse pistol at her hip. Of course, she had no idea who she was talking to. She was rather arrogant that way... suppose thats how she kept getting herself into trouble.

But it wasn't her ability to get into trouble that often impressed buyers, it was her ability to get out of it.

Max eyed the cat-woman and her hand that was getting rather close to the pistol on her hip.

"I am the Chief Security Officer for this ship," Max replied. "Only crew members and authorized dock personnel are allowed here. Are you either one?"

Max could tell by the way she looked and behaved that she definitely was not a docker worker. And she wasn't a crew member because he would have picked up her scent somewhere on the ship before landing.

She noticed his glance towards her weapon and smiled, easing her hand away. Oh she was quick, but quicker than a basilisk? She personally didn't want to find out.

Not trusting the Sarconian to get it right, she smiled once again, showing all of her impressive teeth, "I'm with him," she jerked a furry finger towards the lizardman and with a look quelled any objections that he may have had with those words.

She grinned again, "Security chief huh? So with you on the job, how did ol' mon capitan get captured, hmmm?" she asked, her voice deceptively light and slightly teasing.

She just didn't get it....

Max glared at her impromptu response of "I'm with him." Max didn't even have to flick out his tongue to smell the lie in it. But he'd have to catch her in a lie in order to do anything. Then he got an idea, but before he could put into play immediately, she was taunting him. Bad idea. Max's eyes narrowed as he stiffened.

"The captain was not in this dock at the time of his capture," Max replied stiffly. Max, figuring that now would be a good time, put his idea into motion.

"I wonder what the doc would think about you hanging out with this kitten," Max said, looking at the Sarconian. By the doc, he meant the avain nurse that was the Sarconian's love interest.

Cale turned to Max and let his anger subside. He knew that the basilisk was baiting him into saying something that he would more than likely regret later but he knew that now was not the time for this.

"What is it you mean by those words Max? I need help to find the captain as everyone else seems uncapable of doing so. She seems to have the right skills that I need to find Captain Ren and nothing more. It would be fun to have her become part of the crew but if she does not wish to be then that is fine with me."

He turned and walked down the ramp to where the Ctarl Ctarl still stood, her eyes on Max.

"Come; before it is too late. I need your help to find my captain as I said earlier. Will you help me do so?"

"The captain is not on this planet," stated Max. "We currently don't know where he is, but the one called One-eye is working on that. And as for this cat-woman, she needs to talk to either the firstmate or One-eye before becoming a member of this crew."

Max started to turned to leave, but paused. "Oh, and Sarconian, all crew members are being recalled. Furlough is canceled effective immediately. Report for duty. The ship is departing as soon as possible."

And then Max slithered away, back into the ship.

Cale held his tongue but looked at the basilisk as it slithered away. There was one thing that he did not like above all things and that was being talked to like a child. He looked at the feline woman.

"I cannot speak for the rest of the crew but I think that you would be a welcome addition to it. I hope that you do consider joining it as I think that we could be friends, if not that then I thing that we might be able to at least talk to each other. Do you have anywhere else to go? We can protect you you know; from whatever you need protecting from."

He turned and looked up the ramp into the ship, wondering what he was going to say to Ianthe when she came back to the ship. He knew that he had not done anything wrong by asking the Ctarl Ctarl to join the crew but the way that he had treated her recently was wrong. He knew that he had to make it up to her but he also knew that now was not the right time. He had to help in finding the captain, one of the people that had saved his life. He knew that he had a debt to repay, even if it meant that he had to give up his own life to do so.

Ianthe was unaware of the circumstances that had engulfed the ship in confusion thus far. She had only just made it back and was met with the site of Cale, Max, and a rather pretty Ctarl Ctarl. She didn't know what was going on but she wasn't sure if the other was in a better mood or not. She bit her lip before walking up the ramp to board the ship.

She didn't want to know what was going on just yet.

He hadn't noticed her it seemed and gently she touched his arm as if to greet him before walking ahead. She felt a little out of touch as to what had gone on but he seemed tense to her. The Kylari looked back and smiled at him, it wasn't necessarily happy or joyful but it was pleasant.

"I hope you're feeling better..." She said before continuing her walk to their room.

"So Lumara is off near the third moon?" One-eye said to himself. "Very well. There we shall go. He pushed a button on the terminal. "Disposal of a corpse in the brig." he called into the com. He turned and walked out the door of the brig, leaving the corpse of the prisoner propped in the chair. He had proved...stubborn to the thought extraction, and One-eye had had to cause severe mental damage. The prisoner would have lived the rest of his life as a mentally fractured gibbering idiot, incapable of independent function. So One-eye had put him out of his misery. One-eye walked out toward the ramp to find the loathsome serpent, but instead encountered the mighty sarconian with a female of a Jahad-like species. She had what human races would call feline features, similar to himself, but she was considerably more lithe in form then a Jahad, and smaller then a Jahad female. "Cale!" he said by way of greeting. "Have you seen that trik ba'ad barariku security chief?"

Cale watched Ianthe walk off towards their room. He wanted to follow her but knew that there were things that he had to do first, as much as it pained him to think so. He turned back to his men but before he could say anything to them he heard the voice of One-Eye calling his name.

"One-Eye, sir. I saw him going off down that corridor to the right. I think that he might have been going to the brig. I was told by him that right now you are the only person that can allow new people to join the crew. I wanted to ask you if you would allow this Ctarl Ctarl to join the crew. I can assure you that she will be a great addition to the crew."

One-eye looked at the creature called a Ctarl-Ctarl. "Very well. I must find Max." he said. "Welcome aboard zarku" he said to the new arrival

Genifur

IC: 'Disposal of a corpse in the brig.' I quirked an eye brow at the strange message. "When I said interogate, I didn't expect a dead body."

The repairs were patched enough to hold on a short trip, and that would have to do. Our refueling was nearly complete and our crew was mostly assembled. It 15 or 20 minutes we could luanch.

I fliped off the speakers in the brig and turned on the intercom. "One eye, Max tell me you got a destination from that dead body."

One-eye marched into the bridge just as Genifur called on the intercom.
"Third moon, hes been taken by the Pirate King."

Genifur

IC: I turned some what suprised to hear one eye. "Well the intercom was pointless."

"Aren prepare the coarse." I looked over at the helmsman entering the cordinates of our short trip.

"One Eye honest answer. What do you know about the pirate king, and what am I to expect?"
