You see I have never made claim that my god (I don't have one) or my religion (I don't have one) could do anything for anyone. But then I'm not trying to rub peoples noses in it either.

The point I have been arguing with joe about(since he DOES feel it is his right to rub my, and aeveryone elses nose in his religion) is what gives him the right to.

But he seems to be unnder the understanding that just because he believes it he has every right to use whatever means to try and convert me whether I want it or not.

LOL that was a test you see because I wanted to see how you felt when someone accused you of doing something you didn't actually do. And I don't give a rats ass about any fucking cussing either. BTW:EL, What no one here realises is that I was raised in the Southern Baptist church. I attended services three times a week plus Sunday School. Born again and baptized in the holy spirit.

And then one Sunday morning our Pastor got up and preached a two hour sermon on how Rock and roll is all Satan Whorship and dancing is all pagan ritual and anyone who listened to it would surely burn in hell for it.

I walked out in the middle of it. Quite the feat considering in our small church there was only one isle down the middle and I had to walk right past the pulpit on order to exit.

But it made me SERIOUSLY rethink my beliefs in "The One True, All Powerful, Benevolent, Loving, Forgiving, GOD".

The core issue I have tried to raise here is the question of whether or not God's own ethics apply to God just as they do to humans. Based on the Bible (note particularly Gen. 3:22, 18:25, Exod. 32:14), I believe they do, but most Christians seem to believe otherwise, that God can kill the first-born of Egypt "from the first-born of Pharaoh to the first-born of the captive in the dungeon" (Exod. 12:29) and not be guilty of murder.

There is a fundamental flaw to this argument. It presupposes that God and Man are equal.

If they are not, as I believe, then Christians are over-stepping their bound in acting 'against' the laws that God has set down for Man. To 'relieve' oneself of responsibility because of the 'God Exemption' is hubris and to put yourself on the same level as God.

This is a MAJOR Christian no-no.

To answer the 'Is God exempt from the moral laws he set down for MAN?"

You must answer WHY did God set those laws down for MAN?

It's like asking a cockroach, why do I post on Literotica...

Maybe the Laws of God are set forth the way they are because he/she understands OUR limited view of existence, and is talking at our level.

Sort of like how I train my dog to 'Come' on command; he doesn't understand it, but that doesn't mean I don't want him to 100% ALWAYS answer to that command because someday he will be in the middle of the street and it is crucial that he 'Come' to get him out of the path of danger, namely an oncoming car.

Does the dog understand my purpose behind the automatic behavior of using that command?
