Feeling lots of stress right now. Wondering if I should leave and go north to friends or wait it out.

Thanks for everyones prayers. We sure need it.

oh heavens no , don't go, come over to my house and we can huddle in the closet in candlelight, wine, cheese, you and I holding each other tight as the storm approaches. oh yes, the hurricane might get near us but who cares.

Personally I would go for the wine and cheese myself but I am not sure that will keep you all safe.

To my friends down there.....GET THE FUCK OUT AND BE SAFE WE NEED YOU AND YOUR IN OUR PRAYERS:rose: :rose:

GG, we don't know each other, but with the massive evacuations they're talking of.....PLEASE play it safe and go!! NOW!!!!

They're talking about shutting down the Southbound lanes of the Interstate to allow for the traffic going North. The Dade County Sherriff has said that for people who chose to ignore the evacuation order, officers will come by to collect names for notification of next of kin.

Sounds to me like I'd want to be somewhere else....they are already saying that the rest of Florida could get upwards of 10" of rain once this bastard comes ashore.

My Mom is in Ft. Meyers....my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My Mother is on the West coast with two of my sisters and I have a brother on the East coast.

I will be sweating it out from up here. :( :(

Talk to my brother today, the weather is beautiful....the calm before the storm hits. He is on the East Coast and close to the beach, but he is after 95 anyone before it was evacuated. He said about 300,000 people.......my prayers go out to each and everyone of you.

Well, if anyone needs to get out from there now, they better be flying. As of 1pm this afternoon there is NO fuel available for trucks or cars until this is over. The gas stations are empty and the trucks that bring the gas cann't even get fuel. It's DRY.

I have a REALLY bad feeling about this fucker!!!! Thoughts and prayers for all in harms way....mine and yours. :rose:

HUGS to all who post on this thread. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I live near St. Augustine, so I'm going to my mother's house, yet again. If no one hears from me for a while, ~Elizabeth~ (formerly P3) will be getting a cell call from me should there be no way to communicate with all of you lovely people via the web.

Even though this is the internet, and some who don't fully understand would roll their eyes, I just want you all to know that the friendships I've formed here and are still forming are quite meaningful to me. I'm grateful for my extended family of Litizens. Thank you all for your care and concern.:rose:

Much love and HUGS~
Ashleigh (Raindear816)

BTW, 69Forever, you're right, Frances is the size of TX. Florida is only a sliver!

Since the west side of the storm is weakening, it important to point out to those of you who don't know the impact of a hurricane this size-- there's still the EAST side to contend with. I live on the EAST side of the storm, which is where the storm hasn't lost strength.

Just hoping and wishing and waiting to hear all is fine..:rose:

I think we should do a Florida roll call..

Thank God!

I just got off the phone with my Dad. He spoke with my aunt and found out that EVERY ONE of our family members came through without a serious injury and with VERY little damage (just a few limbs in the yard.

The worst injury is a minor cut that my uncle (a sheriff's deputy) got from some debris flying by. He had stoped to check on a car, luckily no one was in it. Then he got clipped on the arm by something. He was lucky, no stiches were even needed.

Remember folks, when these storms come through, evacuate or stay the hell home. DO NOT GO OUT ON THE STREETS!!! Those law men and women and firefighters are only going to have to risk their lives because some idiot decided that he/she could cross that flooded street. Thanks for letting me rant.

For all of our FL friends, be well, be safe and may God be with you.

Heard from my niece.....my brother is ok, but no power, thank god.........praying that all our Lit. family in Florida is well. :rose:

Have heard firsthand accounts of alot of the damage and have been passing message traffic into and out of Florida via ham radio for the past 13 hours. My best wishes, thoughts, and prayers to the good people in the affected areas! AA

Someone that I know said that Polk county got hit hard again. Charley got them when he blew thru.

Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers.

Seems like it will never end for some.

The heavy rain of the next few days on the Fl west coast will be flowing right through the thousands of roofs not yet repaired in Port Charlotte.
