TST hit the nail on the head - when religion trumps medical opinion, rational discussion becomes whatever the religion says is rational. Most anti choice folks (much like most anti immigration folks) don't understand the procedure, why it is or is not used and so they believe in the lies they are told. When doctors aren't trusted to advance common health, their decisions are no longer considered into the discussion.
