Looks like there's a line forming. Xenomorphs to the right. Predators to the left. No cutting... until it's your turn.

Anyway, hopefully I'm not jumping the gun. I'm just trying to catch you, Villani, before you sign off. Should I expect more direction, or am I for the moment left to my own devices?

Right now you can pretty much wing it, but don't expect to be off the hook for long.

speaking of lines . . . I'm curious about Ta'voc's comment, about watching their backs, are there aliens behind them?

Yeah, he and his warriors are in a cluster driving towards the alpha warrior and her preatorian guards. Aliens are constantly approaching from behind, trying to get them in the backs.
You are called to pick off drones sneaking up on them...though if you attract too much attention you might draw some fire to your own hide.

okay cool. I'll plan to draw lots of attention, after all, my character is only ranged.

Do you mind changing the color of your posts to dark red? It's confused me a bit. Since we have so much going on in that thread (not currently due to some playing problems) its best to make things as simple as possible.

If you're talking about the fight with the preatorian then follow my post below.
And that reminds me: When fighting special NPC's (like the ravager, Ta'voc, or a preatorian for example) do not post the results of your attack and let me determine the outcome of a battle as that is my job.
For example: You could say "I aim my pulse rifle high in the air, towards the massive beast's head and squeeze off a three-round burst." This way the better your post, the more effective the attack. Take your time when fighting the elite NPC's, they are tough and you need to make sure your posts are good so you don't get your ass kicked.
(Orlanth, start the duel by posting an action and make the roleplaying good then I will post for the preatorian)
There will be times when you will fight other PC's. It's bound to happen since you all are on different sides. When it does happen, make good roleplaying decisions and good posts and I will decide the success of your actions.
Here's an example of what might happen in a duel between PC's:
Player #1 "I lounge towards the beast with my blades extended towards its chest."
Player #2 "Upon seeing the hunter spring forward, I duck low to the ground and arc my tail above my head with the blade hanging in front of myself. I shift all of my weight into my hind legs as I await to launch my tail into my prey's face, bringing the great force of my body into the blow."
In this example I would say that Player #2 would have the advantage with a better, more descriptive post and it would result in something like this:
"The drone's wicked spear-like tail pierces deep into the hunter's chest, tearing through the Predator's chest plate as he lunges into the alien. The hunter tumbles to the ground, blown off course by the deep blow, his carapace armor now ruined and his stomach now spewing bright green ichor." If you have any questions on roleplaying, let me know.

About the avatar - I don't know if I can help much as I've never tried putting an av up on Lit and I use Mac software, but resizing shouldn't be a major issue. What graphic programs do you have, Vill? Even the simple ones I've seen (AppleWorks, Graphic Converter, etc.) should have some way or other to adjust size. I'll try putting an av up over the weekend to see if I'll be able to help you at all.
