Alien vs Predator Campaign: Recruiting

Oooo... Don't know the program well enough to know anything but that it's possibly the simplest program out there. If you want to jump ahead light years, there's tons of free software you can download.

A friend recommended gimp.net just yesterday. Can't endorse it personally, but he generally knows what he's talking about. According to him it's the closest you can come to PhotoShop without spending money.

Okay, sorry for the delays. I'm back in the States now and its been a hellacious past two weeks. So stepping off the plane even I knew I wasn't in any kind of mindset to post something here that'd make sense.

In that vein, things should stabalize a smidge but still finding a job and all that jazz so it'll be a slow stabilization.

Moving along, I've moved Nan-de up into the fray and such. She's at the back of the circle, furthest from the Pretorians because that's where she probably should be. She's a fighter but that's not her primary job, so she's taking care of the small fish so others have time for the bigger ones.

If things need my immediate attention, shoot me a PM, if you've the time. I tend to bounce in, check on a friend or two and run back out sometimes but always read my PM's if nothing else.

Are you using the disk on the end of a rope kinda like a mace? Swinging it around and hitting people with the blades or am I interpretting this all wrong?

lol, somewhat like a mace, but it's longer, like it's maximum reach is 12 ft, but only one disc for now, basically when the other disc comes back, I'll be using them both, more like this thing:

Sweet, so you plan on using one on each rope. Intense.
Realize by doing this you have a wider range of attack and can dish out a lot of pain but if something gets close to you, your in trouble.

yeah, I am totally ranged, in my description if you notice I wear practically no armor, only protecting my vital spots, and forearms, if those things bleed on me i'm in trouble, but also i'm not too worried if they get to close because well, if you're good, you can actually yank it properly and have it come towards you, without hurting yourself and also he only uses wristblades as backups, so I am severely capped when it comes to melee, relying only on finesse in dexterity for dodging and finesse in dexterity for striking only making sure almost every hits fatal or near fatal.

the idea is basically you control the weapon by controlling the rope (in this case a cord treated for their blood) being able to strike it out forward as if throwing it straight out, but you can also yank it back and turn a frontal strike into a sweeping arc, and because the weapons on the end of something flexible, conventional blocks won't really affect it from getting to the target because it will just swing around the weapon and strike the target at an even higher speed.

Glad to see you know how to use one. Just make sure you explain what kind of strikes you are delivering in your posts. They sound like they hurt people in differnt ways.

Tonofnoise, our sole alien player for the moment, has decided to hold back on the roleplaying and is resigning from the campaign. I will continue posting from the Alien's point of view to keep the slaughter levels high. Thanks for playing Tonofnoise.

Ah, fresh meat. Well we always have room for more players, ecspecially more Aliens or Marines. You can be a Predator if you want but the other races are running a little sparse right now.
Well, if you want to join, just post your character here (including race, name, weapons & epquipment, pysical description, and anything else you might want others to know about your char). I'll try to set you in the action as quickly as possible.

Alright, but I have a few questions for you:
When you say inbuilt blaster, how much firepower are we talking about and where on the body is it located?
You say Jax has "guns" but could you be more specific?
You said your character is a cybory mix of human biolgical parts but fused with Predator technology. What aspects of the technology do you posess?
Basically, the more powerful you make yourself, the harder opponents you will face.
Once you clarify all that here, I will set you into the action but make sure that your posts are in blue text because you will be affiliated with the USCM.

I'm glad someone brought this to attention. I guess it's safe to assume that somewhere along the line a Predator was captured by the company (other than the one in this campaign). However it really does sound as if he is creating an overly advanced character.
It's alright with me but I will keep my eyes on him. He already knows that he will be fighting more powerful enimies if he is keeps his current character. If his roleplaying is not very good, he should better hope that I have mercy on his character...

While we're on the subject of killing off characters...
There are some players who have not posted in a while who are the following: Jagged, Orlanth, and Tonofnoise (though he has resigned from the campaign). If they don't continue posting soon, they will be horribly butchered as all non-active characters should. I may even give you active players the chance to do it yourselves...

And that cyborg thing? Um, from a medical stand point- fusing a human with machine parts, okay. But if the military could fuse a human with predator stuff then why aren't all the soldiers using predator-morphed technology? Its obviously got some superior aspects, like cloaking and such, so why aren't all of them using it?
The fusing would require a deep understanding of the predator technology- its completely different from human because the requirements of the predator society are vastly different then human societies.
So if he can come up with a background to this- maybe a secret facility on a backwater planet where the human gov't can hide its human experimations (which most humans are strongly against even today), it'd help a lot. Also could give flesh to the character.
Maybe a corporation that works with the military on contract but isn't bound by its moral codes that did the fusing as a "hey ya think this would work" kind of thing.
