All About NASCAR

Well, there was some good racing, but my guy was in 35 6 laps down so it was hard to watch.:(

On to the lady in black next week.
I know. I have been there many times with Mr. Mayfield and it is agony watching him blow a tire and crash. I hate it when he is out of the race.

I split in my fantasy games today, I won in picking someone to be in the top ten and my team lost in the Ultimate fantasy league. I will have to wait til tomorrow to see how I did with my other fantasy team. It was a great race from where I was sitting, most of my favs did very well.

Well that sure was some race today. Junior sure did make a big comeback after last week. Kenseth made a run for it after going a lap down early. Kahne is quite impressive, wonder if he will be able to keep up this strong performance all season. It was a good run for mayfield today too.
My guy Jarrett finished decent again, Sure do hope he wins a couple this year.
I do the stock car challenge fantasy league. I did about average this week. Harvick kinda let me down.
Oh well there is always next week, on to the lady in black!!!

I have Harvick on a couple of my teams too, I think it may be time to trade him off.

Harvick is a feisty one. I wouldn't count him out just yet.

Thats just it you never know where he will be week to week. I can trade him for Stewart and be money ahead.

Never give up on K dawg. New tires and spoiler package is gonna take a few races to figure out. Next week is a question mark, not one of his fav tracks, but look out. As DW would say "He's a coming".

He is a smart kid. Once that is all figured out he'll be giving the post interviews, soon enough.

Did you notice Jarrett was in or near the top ten all day and they never really even mentioned his name?
The way Tony started out i didnt think anyone would catch him, too bad he had that little bump, i think thats what did him in.

Yup...but they rarely ever refer to him at all, good or bad :( *shakes head* They talk about this one or that one making a run for this or that position, and never mention him slowing coming up from ten laps behind and being in or near the top ten. Hopefully this season he will surprise the lot of them :D

I know...he's been having a string of the wrong kind of luck lately.

Kudos to Jr's team though...they did an awesome job after last week's non-finish.

seems like we hear ALOT about the "GILLETTE YOUNG GUNS" though.
Jarrett just needs to keep "CAN DO" in his head :D

*nods* Mike Ford has been doing an awesome job for him. At least none of the pit crew has left the catch can in the gas tank this season

LOL Did you ever want to give him something to cry about, too? :D

I got so excited when Jarrett won the Bud Shoot Out. I think that was an omen of the good season he's going to have this year. He may not make into the final part of the season - still haven't figured out that point thing yet  But I think that next season he'll be even better *crosses fingers and toes and legs*

I have nothing but respect for DJ and his Team. Tony has come a long ways in dealing with his emotions, on and off the track.

YEAH DALE JR.!!! The one interesting thing they talked about though during the race, was the Team wide performance of Ray Everham's Dodges. They all were close to nailing the set-up for Atlanta. Watch for them as the season goes on.

I was excited fot the whole Yates team after the bud shoot out. Dale and Elliott both won there race and things were looking great. Elliott had a bad weekend in Atlanta but i am confident he will rebound.
The point system isnt real hard actually.
After 26 races, all racers in the top 10 AND anyone less than 400 points behind the leader will be in a 10 race shootout. the points leader will remain the point leader , 2nd place will be 5 points behind, 3rd 10 points back, 4th 15 points back etc etc. then they will give points for races as usual and the one on top at the end is the champ.

*nods* Hopefully the Fords will make a big come back this year...though the Dodge cars are starting to remind me of the Ferraris in Formula One ;)

I guess I should have said that I haven't figured out if the points thing will be good or bad. I think a lot of good drivers will be left out of the last races. But I'll reserve judgement until such time as it's over and see how it's going to work out. I think it may result in a lot of crashes during the regular season while everyone is fighting to make that top points list to stay in the game.

I agree, its hard to decide wether it was a good or bad move until the season is over.

Nice to see that you keep coming back to post, thank you:kiss:

And thanks to everyone else who have been posting !!!

LOL What can I say...I love Nascar :D Of course, being raised in a family that watches it every Sunday and the Charlotte Motor..ermmm...Lowe's Motor Speedway...being just down the road...hard to imagine a person like that not liking it :)

It's a good thread

I'm off to get ready for work now...have a wonderful day!!!!

I'm an aussie, and we don't have nascars over here, but i was curious what nascar racing is closest to over here

I know very little about nascar racing, but from what i've seen, the cars look remotly similar to V8 supercars (ie Ford falcons, Holden [GM] Commadore [???]).

What kind of track do they race on? I have something in my head saying they race on big oval style tracks, am i correct?

Hello Stiffman. Most NASCAR races are on ovals. They range in length though from Bristol, Tennessee which is a .533 mile Bull-Ring of down and dirty dogfighting to 2.5 mile superspeedways.
There are a few road courses thrown in as well, where the teams have to set the cars up to turn both right and left.

Your V8 supercars are the closest thing to NASCAR. Hope this helps you understand it a bit more. Race on!!!
