Any gunfighters ...

It should be obligatory for every poet on here to write at least two sestinas after all if I have to suffer so should you!

i'm not convinced this is a case of 'sharing your pain halves your pain', lol

psyching out your opponent, bflagsst? tutututt :D
a war of attrition ...

I don't really know what I'm in for with Remec. If it was UYS or GreenMountaineer I think I'd have an idea how they'd do the challenge and maybe write with that in mind. Remec is a mystery, I'll have to do more research on his writing. He has a few poems such as http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=386183 that have very similar phrasing and word choices that I'd use.

Hmm...practising forms is actually on my list of NYD resolutions. I've not started them, though, so I haven't marked that as a failed item yet. *g*

Funny you should have picked that poem, since it was written about an AV from a regular in the forum.

I'm always trying to find poets that write like me. No poet wants to find someone who's already doing what they're doing, but I sorta do in a weird way. Usually when you keep reading past those few poems you find out your styles are very different, and those couple poems you find commonality in might just be footnotes to a broader style.

At the same time I am researching both of your poetry styles and coming up with strengths and weaknesses to tie into the challenge. Don't, for a moment, think it will be easy for you! Never underestimate the game master!

I've got an excel spreadsheet built somewhere for that. I've already fulfilled my obligation and on top of that wrote one with Angeline that was one step better than projectile vomiting. My half of course. Her half was pristine...

I think you sent me that years ago when I was young (?) and foolish and full of enthusiasm for such things. They wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so long I get bored halfway through

Bflagg's poems here don't really show his experience with form poetry. I think he'll win no matter what the challenge is, no offense to Remec. Pushkine should come back from the dead and fight the winner. Then SapphosSister should rise like a zombie and fight the winner of Pushkine vs. Bflag/Remec.

No contest Pushkine is the master of form

That's why you and he should have your own gunfight.

My experience with form poetry resembles Dr. Seuss' experience with sexily written novels.

No chance I know when I am outgunned who do you think taught me in the first place?

While I am happy that you are a fan, I don't think you quite understand the gunfight challenge. Many a poet has lost and been buried here. I have faith in both poets. It will be a good and fair challenge. :)

I'm still blowin' gunsmoke outta the end of my barrel... My sights are still set my quill is still sharpen'd. Many a good poet's found a spot on the sunny side of this here PoBo boot hill. I'm happy t' say that I've been glad to lay most of 'em thar t' rest... Now, search back. I think ya'll will find that the great word shooter, T-zed (aka Pushkine) whar th' last pen-slinger standin' at the last gunfight... I think. Someone killed me, right dead... blew me off'n my vellum slippers he did... yea up..

The last poem battle was the BDSM one I believe. I voted for your pantoum, but I wasn't a judge so my vote was only pretend. I think Tzara swayed the judges because his form looked prettier.

All the forms, Onegin Stanza - no immunities !
No contest Pushkine is the master of form
Onegin stanza? Anybody
I'll face off with at sixty feet
(Good baseball distance). My prosòdy,
Like, guarantees I will defeat
All those whose metrics are quite shoddy.
But, then, I'm dead. My corpse (or body)
Just cannot do poèms no more.
(My brain, you see, is pretty sore
From all such stuff, so literati.)
Hey, UYS! Attention, please!
Go forth and use your expertise
To chop down with verbal karate
Lit poets who still sneer at form.
Form's the New Cool. Form's the New Norm.

Lately I cheat and use my meter program to help me.
It so much nicer to use now that it has curses,
but still needs some handholding.

Meter needs to be cursed...How else can one contrast the proper angst?
