Any gunfighters ...

I'm open to a three-way with Remec and whoever, guys or girls. I'm gonna start training for it. Just let me know a few days in advance the hour of the battle.

Once I have a third judge, I can work out all the final deets. In the meantime, I will PM Remec and tell him the challenge is on. I already know his approximate time zone, but it would be helpful to know yours since this is a live challenge. :):rose:

New York time.

You lie with something uncanny
resting by your side
buried beneath the sheets
sweetly humming

consider yourself lucky, then :D
*curtseys*

:D It's a pleasure to meet you.

We are running a live poetry challenge next Saturday, February 13th (as long as this date is good for both poets). I need a third judge. Basically, I will post a challenge with specific parameters and a time limit. Once both poems are submitted, I will post them on a new thread and the judges will then have 24 hours to assess (critique) how well, or not, the poets adhered to the parameters of the challenge and then the judge must state which poet best met the challenge overall.

Interested in judging?

Hello :)

the 24 hours should be fine. I'm in the UK, and working Saturdays but with the time differences etc it should work out ok, i'd imagine.

so why not? sounds fun :D
one thing, i am no expert on some of the forms like UYS is  but i can look up stuff :p

You weren't THAT bad. I think you did fine. :)

Thankyou honeybunch your name will go down as the biggest fibber in town but the kindest heart

Feb 13th is fine for me. I'd prefer within the range of 1230pm-630pm est, but I'm willing to negotiate if the Remec has different needs.

The judge is going to post their criticism on the thread too?

The thought of the gunfight being in the daytime had not actually occurred to me, but (assuming the kids are cooperative) that window works nicely 'cause I have a meeting with some friends (a semi-biweekly D&D game) that evening that I would have to leave for around 530 and not be back until almost 2 Sunday morning.

I usually shoot for fixing lunch around 1 on a Sat, so maybe narrow the window further to somewhere between 2 and 5 pm?

<threadjack>

There are so many innuendoes and double entendres in this thread. Maybe I just have sex on the brain...Wait...that is a normal event.

If it's good for bflagsst how does 2:30 sound? This gives you time to clean up the lunch mess and discover something to occupy your kids for the hour. :D

I will receive both poems in PM and then post them anonymously at the same time to a new thread. The judges (who won't be anonymous) will have 24 hours to submit their judgments/critiques/results to me in PM. Once I have all three judges' results, I will post them to the same thread (leaving three blank spaces under the poems so that it will be easy to find because there is typically some banter on these threads), again, simultaneously.

If I choose a specific form for the challenge (I'm not saying I will and I'm not saying won't :p ) then I will provide linked information in the initial challenge post that will be useful. Sound good?

*nodding*
Sounds like a date to me. Wonder if I should mark my FB calendar? (Do I have a FB calendar? Hmm.....)

Okay, then, all is set and now the anticipation begins! :D

sounds good to me. *nods*

I'm training this week, Remec. I have a clock and I look at the clock and I write triolets and then I look at the clock and see if a half hour has passed. I have no stop watch. I will not train in sestinas because I can't write poems that are longer than twelve to fourteen lines.
