Any Way to Know?

Why would the 80/20 principle apply in this context? This doesn't seem like the same context in which it is applied in the examples given.
Other than the vague evidential fact that it does work, generally speaking, if you have a long enough chaptered thing that shows the view count hitting steady state at chapter three, then flat-lining (or long slow declining) to the end. For all of my longer pieces it's either completely coincidental, or it's happened enough that it's a handy rule of thumb.

It's my 4 - 6 chapter pieces where it sometimes falls over, but then I think other factors kick in, like a DoomApproved subtitle, which is definitely a factor on my last piece. Or, being slow-build generally, the last chapter gets to the point, finally, and it's so porno hot that people are reading it twice.

What's been your experience with E&V?
Just took a look at my figures. I've published 15 E&V tales. The number of 'reads' per vote ranged from a high of one vote per 179 'reads' to a low of 41. The average was 105, which fits in reasonably well with the AH folk wisdom of one in a hundred.
