Back in highschool, senior year, so many things I did were so far outside what I do now.

Back before there were cell phones. Riding passenger while a friend drove home from a bonfire so drunk that I had to tell her when she went over the lines. It was a very curvy cliff side. I am so lucky to be alive.

I don't so much know it's something they don't believe - but people who know me now always express surprise when I tell them I was a cop for a decade. Their usual response is "but you're too nice".

I really don't have any big regrets - and very few small ones - but there was a place in the flow of my life where I made a deliberate decision to go left instead of right and I've always wondered how my life would have turned out if I made took the other fork in the road. (This was back when I left law enforcement and went into the civilian world).
