Ask the Demon

You really are a smartass, you know that?

Oh, who am I asking, of course you know.

:D I embrace my role.

Plus, as a smart ass, I cannot help but point out that I am a nerd for making a transwarp joke, but you sir, are every bit as bad for understanding it.

Dear Vandal,

Why is it that I can't help but cry at sad stories and movies? Even if my mood is wonderful, it gets sad and I start to bawl like my best friend died. Heck, even SONGS get to me. Please please give me some advice on how to conquer this.

Thank you oh Demonic one.

My dearest beloved, why ask to change? What's wrong with crying at sad movies or sad songs? In my opinion, that's the makings of a really good song or movie. And if there seems to be no standard that elicits this reaction, well, that is just another form of being easilly amused - WITH WHICH THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. Take a look at most movie critics. They're miserable. Even armchair critics are miserable people, unable to find joy in even the most well made piece of art out there. Enjoy your movies and songs the way you want. Stop trying to fix something that's not broken.

Dear Vandy:

how do you get the Kinder Egg Plastic open?!

ReiRei, Cleric's first answer is absolutely correct. His second two, are okay, too, even if they are slightly retarded. (Come on, Clerky, if I didn't rib you, you'd think I was depressed or something)

Oh, and Cleric, please stop answering on my thread. Is mine. Is pathetic, and a little attention seeking, but is mine.

dear vandaloo:

Okay, I don't get Men without Hats. Why do they have such stupid titles for awesome stick-to-you-head-and-will-never-leave songs?

Think about it :

Safety Dance?
Pop Goes the World?
Anartica?
WTF?!

I do worry when you aren't on the attack.
Wouldn't want you to be... ill, or Dictumed, or whatever.

And hey, if Mace is the answer, it falls in my jurisdiction.

The complexity of Men Without Hats' synthesizer work is supposedly rivalled only by some of Emerson, Lake, and Palmers work, and this lends itself to being stuck in one's head quite a bit. I can't remember where I read it, so don't quote me, but the probability of getting a song stuck in one's head is usually directly proportionate to the ammount of precision generated by the instruments used, and in the case of electronic instruments, the precision is repetetive and nearly perfect, no matter the quality of the songwriting.

Now, on a side note, I don't think I've ever heard any song by Mw/oH other than Safety Dance, so I wouldn't really know.

You are almost completely correct. Now, if she'd asked you on a thread dedicated to your answers, you'd be completely correct, but she didn't now did she?

nanny, nanny...boo, boo

My answers, or judgment, transcend threads.

But, ok, I surrender the point.

Dear Vandal,

Why do people not understand people with bi polar and attempt to deal with them in a manner that will help, rather than simply thinking it will go away?

Because people without a certain problem can never understand that problem completely. This is the source of most of the problems in the world: lack of understanding.

I have a request of my you, Doubters. And please keep in mind, this is serious.

You guys know I hate the holidays, or at least you should by this point. But that doesn't mean everyone else does, and when it comes to [unmentionables], I don't fuck around. There are families out there who get hosed every Christmas season, folks, and it's cold out there. I know of one way to help, though.

The radio station in Kansas City, where I recently moved from, does something every year called Hope for the Holidays. People who are in dire need or people who know others in dire need write in to the radio station and give the situation. Johnny Dare, the local shock jock, reads the letters on the air and then takes calls from people who have a little extra to help out. Now, I understand that most of my friends on here don't have much to give and are far outside of KC, but if you have friends that can help, or you have anything extra that you may be able to provide, I'd really appreciate it if you took a listen.

The station's website is www.989therock.com and the live stream of the station is reachable at http://webclust1.liquidcompass.cc/entercom/video_gateway.php?id=KQRC. The Johnny Dare Morning Show plays between 6 and 10 CST every weekday morning. If you could take a listen and please spread the word, I'd appreciate it. This is my Christmas wish. When you have no music playing in the morning when you get online, or you just want something to rock out to, please check it out.

Just to add my own two cents since I do live in the KC area and listen to the show everyday. If you just want to send money, you send it to any of the Capital federal banks in the KC area with Hope for the holidays as the account. they will put it in the bank and johnny and the gang can use it with who ever they think need it. Or get in touch with me through a PM, and I'll make sure your money gets there! People that they help are the ones just like us who work paycheck to paycheck and just need that little help to make sure their kids have a good xmas and get caught up on rent, utilities. I have already donated and i'm broke as fuck but I have more that some of these families.

Sorry to take over the thread Vandal but just wanted to throw in my own opinion. Thanks!

Explain to me why there are finals on Saturday and Sunday?

Because institutions of higher learning, as a rule, suck. Either they're a place to get drunk and waste time, in which case they're a joke, or they're stifling and overbearing, in which case they ruin open minds.

I'm not bitter.

REALLY, I'M NOT.

...oh, and...happy holidays...'n' stuff...

Funny, my mind isn't ruined. *giggles*

At least, they didn't ruin it for me. :D

it seems so weird going bk to cm without your thread... is anyone else having the same promblems?

Apparently so. Although, no-one has signed on here, except for you, so far.

For those of you keeping track, Ask the Demon site 2 is gone. People couldn't keep their damn civility about them, so it got deleted. This is now the only Ask the Demon thread in working order. I may return to site 4 before too long, but as of now, I'm glad to call Lit home. I'm still going to be making vids for YouTube and MySpace, but I'm being lazy for now.

More questions!

Dear Vandy:

why don't Demon's wear any underwear?

Well, ReiRei, some demons do, just to fit in. Covert infernalism and all that. I don't because I just prefer not to. Reduces the laundry load, improves access to the goods and increases the budget that I would be spending on underoos.

Other demons don't wear underwear because they don't wear anything at all. Y'know, because of...well...goat legs...yeah. Ew.
