Aural sex

The voice I am thinking of is calm. The woman is conveying a feeling of ease or relaxation. She is not trying to be seductive, she is just displaying the mannerisms of patience in her voice. It should be slightly deep or husky. She should also tend towards the quite. I should have to strain ever so slightly to hear her in a plesant conversation. That way I actually pay closer attention to her.

Sort of like a vocal massage.

Help me. Who the hell am I thinking of?

This might sound way off base Vincent, but when you say this, one person I think of is Stockard Channing. As she is in The West Wing, not necessarily in Grease. I think her voice is sexy.

Grease!
That's where I knew her from. I was watching West Wing earlier and I just could not place the damn woman.

Grease!

She made fun of nice little Olivia Neuton John.

Bitch.

Thanks baby. You are the best, slut.
;) ^;)

I also am a huge fan of Alan Rickman's voice. I don't know if this is common, but on the one fan site for this actor that I web browsed, there were dozens of sound clips. Makes me think his voice is a huge part of his appear. One of the many qualities it has is that it is slightly lisp-y at times and that sounds cute. Donald Sutherland has an even more pronounced (and darling) lisp. :)

The importance of voice is confirmed in my experience with chatrooms. Many of them now have a voice chat feature in addition to the typing feature and, in the rooms where this is used, the men and women with the sexiest voices seem quite popular.

Does anyone else hate the way, when you hear your voice on a recording, it sounds awful--not at the way you hear it in your head when you are actually talking?

One other observation: many radio commericals and even voice-mail systems seem to me to use the worst-voiced people they can find. I wonder why that is?

because advertising is not about pretty, it is about memorable...

I was going to say Kathleen Turner from the get go but Honey beat me to it. I have to agree with Stockard Channing also.

I don't know why, but I am also finding it easier to think of men with sexy voices than women, so it is not just the gender of the listener involved here.

Emma Thompson does something for me aurally.

I can think of several examples among people I know in RL and I agree that I have been enjoying the audio AH stuff. I think that for me the voice is hard to seperate from the rest of the person for these type of comparisons.

The only voice I can say I really can't stand is the woman who plays Janeway in Voyager..

I like her voice- authoritive yet sexy:D

I also love the voices of -- minds drawn a blank, Rebecca from Cheers and the woman from Romancing the Stone. Egads, I know there names but I just can't think of them. Oh well.

She has just the slightest bit of a lisp. I think it's kind of sweet.

Perdita...you are so right...Janeways voice does sound fake and untrustworthy. It just drives me batty....

And it is good to be back :) for a while I just kinda dropped back,I didn't feel part of things -partly because i got busy with other stuff and didn't have the time to spend here- but I must say I feel much more part of things since joining in the audio threads.

Thanks for the welcome back :rose: I shall do my best to be a little less irratic in future*L*

Well I've thought of one female voice I quite like....and my husband loves it, that of Drew Barrymore.

(Adam Sandler has a lovely voice too...when he says "I think i'm in love with her" in the bar in wedding singer I melt)

Kathleen Turner. Her voice is cultivated, I heard her say in an interview once. Not natural.

I think she cultivated it by smoking.

whatever she did, I think she destroyed her throat. It's not nearly so sexy as it once was. (she did not age well all around I am sorry to say)
