Interesting marketing. The image does no encourage me to grab a cold one.

Hi sigh!!

Hi Pete! *waving vigorously*

It's like the anti-cold one. Or something. Whatever it is, it ain't right.....but then again, if one were poured before me, I'm pretty sure I'd have a taste.

Just ordered (for pickup) some of this.

ABC says: DOOMED Imperial Stout!!! Fermented and Aged in Missouri oak. Finished on Madagascar vanilla beans and freshly roasted Klatch coffee. 15.5% abv. The result brings soooo much dark chocolate out in this beer.

Perfect for this evening.

I've got homebrewed American Porter and Imperial Stout on tap that I'm working on these days. Plus a good selection of assorted stouts and barleywines in the fridge :)

I am a beer girl at heart. Never been good enough of a drinker to get into the hard liquor. Most of the time my go to is a basic Coors Light and if I am feeling good whatever the Scotch Ale is they have. I love trying new beer though and especially if it seems like something fun and creative. One of the best beers I've had has been a banana bread beer when I was in Tennessee and sadly cannot find where I live. The worst beer I have tried to date has been Bud Light Orange.

Currently in the middle of an Edmund Fitzgerald Porter from Great Lakes Brewing Co. out of Ohio. Quite good, would buy again. I also recently had Milkshake Malt Porter from Point Brewery of Wisconsin, and I actually got this Edmund Fitzgerald because they were sold out of the Milkshake Malt.

Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is a classic example of the style. So much so that it's cited as a reference in the beer judging style guides.

These were my Superbowl selections, both 22 oz. bottles:

Hoppin Frog - Imperial English Old Ale aged in bourbon barrels, 16.8%

Modern Times - Altar of the Orc Lord, English Barleywine aged in Bourbon & Sherry finished Rum barrels, 14.9%

I wish the game had been as good as these beers.

Glad this board has gained traction. A solid effort from a great brewery

Panther Cub (2021) Founders Brewing Co. on Untappd https://untp.beer/NLOB3

I tried this and still have a couple of bottles, hoping my cousin will drink them when he comes by for dinner later today. Sorry, but I really don't care for it. I agree that the brewery is great. I like a lot of their beers a whole lot. But I guess I don't care for beer aged in bourbon casks. There's a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel brand out there and I've tried a few of their brews and...don't like them.

I love bourbon, by the way, and beer with a glass of bourbon is great. But something about being aged in the barrels...no. Just not my taste, I guess.

I have not had this porter. It seems a bit low on the ABV for a good winter warmer, but since it's above 8, it might age well. Set one of those bottles aside for next Easter and it might surprise you.

Maybe. My cousin already drank one and he's still nibbling crackers. Probably won't have any to set aside. It's not the alcohol that bothers me, though. It's that bourbon aftertaste. Or maybe that would mellow over time too.

Fully admit I don't know much about making or storing beer. I just like to drink it.

It will likely mellow out with some aging. Most beers that have been in whiskey barrels could stand to be aged for the best enjoyment.

I'm a beer drinker and a bourbon drinker. But, I'm not a big fan of barrel aged beers. They're a little sweet to me, and taste a tad raiseny(?). One of our local breweries did and IPA aged in former bourbon barrels that were then used to age some tequila. It was pretty good as the hoppiness cut through the sweetness.

Oh, I'm not good at collecting or aging, but really good at drinking.
