I'm awake. Just trying to warm the old bones after all day Saturday in the cold. In case you missed it Gathering of the Eagles was a whopping success. Well I guess it depends on the paper you read or site you go to. I was there and although not counting heads I would say the Eagles outnumberd the protesters 2 to 1 probably. Someone on the GOE site posted their calculations at about 30,000 and I would say that was about right. Fox News, and The NY Times reported about a 1:1 ratio while the freaking Post said 3 to 1 in favor of the protestors. BS BS BS. I am so dissapointed in the state of the unethical press. Is there a paper out there that just reports the truth any more?

Anyway went off without a hitch. No Eagles arrested that I know of but a few protestors went down town. One woman slapped the crap out of a biker. He turned the other cheek and walked away though. His buddies stepped up for him and she was about to swing again when the police cuffed her swinging arm. Pretty funny when she swung and discovered the cuffs......LOL

But I am telling you that wind hurt this old Army man's bones. BAD. Paying the price even now as I limp and hobble around. But it was a great time. Met a lot of good folks from as far as Hawaii and all parts in between. Too bad none of you guys and gals made it. Maybe GOE II will get you here or better yet ROLLING THUNDER.

Jaded the wall is not as ominous as I thought. Although I admit that is not my war but my father's. I expected it to be a lot bigger ya know. I found Arlington to be far more heart wrenching as I did a PGR mission there and every time I fly over it and see the sheer expanse of the Garden of Stone. Lots of vets there though bro. You might have found some old friends that did make it home. Come on down for Thunder.

G-evenin' everyone,

...I hear ya 'bout the gr-kids jade, I can barely remember mine at her age now, and I am sure enjoyin' her early days. She will be 6 months in another week, and I agree with ya 'bout the side car. Folks keep tellin' me, I'm gonna have to take "G", off the luggage rack, to make a place for katey-Ray. But I keep insistin', theres room for all of us...
...Wouldn't go so far as to say that webb... ...Always glad to hear of people ridin'. I have considered movin' south, like Fla. where I could ride all the time, but the dang commute, back to Va every day, would be a real bitch...
...Has turned off rainy tonite, and we also are s'pposed to be gettin' a cold front thru this weekend. Snow has been mentioned, but only in the form of flurries. We are in dire need of rain, has been so dry, wildfires have burned several thousand acres here in the county, in the last week.
...Hope everyone has a great evenin', and tomorrow, FRIDAY... :) ...is even better...

...Ride safe, but ride...

Hey, back in a day, we rode 3 adults on a 1200 sporty...my ex, me and my best friend...he had a short in the head light and we lived in southern OH at the time, so was on some twisty, hilly roads, whenever we went around a corner, the lights went out, then on the next corner, they came back on....some of the things we did back then, I am surprised I am still alive...but it seemed fun at the time.

Hey Snake... :)

Your right about air travel here in the New England region. Most of which are still stranded in airport. Flight out of Boston don't exsist as of yet. Train and bus travel is at about a stand still. Everyone strand have been trying to get out by either bus or train...:( I understand that they wanna get out but unfortunately that will be difficult for the next day or two...!

Well just kicking back with a second cup of freshly made Dunkin Donuts coffee. Procrastinating on the snow removel detail The birds are visiciously attacking the bird feeders and suet feeders outside. I had two mated pair of cardinals now I have three, still have my four blue birds, now have a pair of blue jays, and god only knows how many wrens, finches, cat birds, sparrows, doves, etc... :D I can watch the eagles for hours. My yard looks like a seen out of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" ... ;) I can see were I will need to get more suet for the suet feeders today. I have to replace a couple of the bird houses in the yard this year. I think I'll add about 6 to 10 more. For me its relaxing to watch them. The babys are always so cute.

OK gang I'm outta here. Been lazy to long. Catcha all later... :D

I man after my own heart...I love watching the birds, something I did with my mom...RIP....I have 5 feeders in the back and 3 in the front...bring in woodpeckers, red wing black birds, blue jays, cardinals, gold finches, nut hatches, and lots of others, those are just some of my favorites. I love to sit at the patio door with my coffee and watch the backyard...so busy. I have 2 bluebird houses that my dad made me to put up this year, need to get that done soon. Then I have the little barn wrens, they just love it when the horse drops her grain...or leaves some for them. I have hawks, but eagles are just down the road, I keep hoping they will move to my woods...they are so grand. Whenever I watch the birds, it is just a connection with my mom. I got her started by buying her feeders and houses and then she almost became obsessed with it.

SecretLove, I agree with this one too...gotta be able to ride something!!! I am looking forward to a day when I am ready for there to be another bike parked beside my baby in that big ole garage and the owner is parked in my bed!!! Won't settle for a non biker, gotta ride or be getting ready to get a ride to play with me!

I haven't been here for a bit, was going to make it a regular stop, but sometimes I get mislead... ;)

Jaded ~ to answer a question way back...it is not me in the AV and there is no hubby...a friend that I see once in a while who is pretty fun tho.

Ender ~ so sorry to hear about your friend...we have a guy in the area that I live in that has lost both legs, he still rides. Carries his wheel chair in a side car and has all hand shifters, brakes, etc. And he rides a lot...is part of a small gang type thing here, not bad guys, just a group of organized bikers...they do a lot for each other and their families.

MissingMeds ~ my ex rode year round in southern Ohio; Morgan Co, Guernsey Co, Muskingum Co., but he was crazier than a loon and didn't have special tires for it...just crazy...his goal was to always ride every day...even if it was just to the nearest watering hole and back...today he doesn't even have a bike...and he is who taught me to ride. Had 3 of them when we got divorced and didn't want to give up a one of them...so I said fine, I will have my own. And I do and he had to sell all of his....ironical how things work.

Wing ~ hope you had a good day!

And to everyone else, enjoy those rides...just watch for the 2 wheelers...my biggest fear right now it is all the cinders on the road from the snow that I have to worry about, haven't been out yet...but I cannot wait for another nice day. I've got an itch that needs scratched...maybe a couple of them... ;)

I think I have taken over the thread long enough, just had a lot of catching up to do...will try to visit more often.

Keep 'em sunny side up!!!!

g-mornin' everyone,

...good to see ya back sassy, has been too damn long woman, like jade says, try to check in @ biker run, before ya ride. regardless, always good to hear from ya...
...Glad to hear your weekend went well doc, althobeit cold, was a perty nice weekend here, course that seldom helps northern Va., for a day or 2. I tend to agree with ya 'bout the 'truthfulness' of our news reporters/newspapers. When these folks die, they will write "here lies the truth, it never came out"....S'pposed to be a nice week, so maybe it'll help warm your ol' bones... :)
...lookin' like its gonna be a bit rainy/messy today, but only s'pposed to last today, then clear out for a beautiful week. Hope everyone has a great day, and get in all the saddle time ya can stand... ;)

...Ride safe, but ride...

Good morning everyone.

Jaded,,,, I live in Detroit. Just a days ride from you! I have always wanted to see the Northeast. I have been to NY, NY,,, but not on the bike, not that I want to either.

Dr.,,, I haven't ever done the Rolling Thunder ride, as my grandson's birthday is always celebrated on that weekend. Some year, I'll have to make an exception.

Ms. Sassy,,, be careful on those cinder covered roads. Maybe the rain coming later this week will help wash them off. Just be careful.

Snowed here yesterday, but most melted. Today should finish it off, as it is supposed to be sunny but only 40.

Have a great day all,

Stay safe.

Morning All, The wind is really blowing up here today but at least the snow has a crust on it so it's not whiteout conditions. Hopefully this is going to be Winter's last blast! The way it looks now it's still a few weeks until the bike comes out. There's tons of salt and sand on the roads so we need some rain to get rid of it. Along the road here the banks are still 10 feet high in places so there is a lot to melt. Everyone have a good one!

G'Day all

Overcast with a chance of rain here today...... on the up side we're getting pay TV put on (Cable) Now I can watch 4 episodes of who's line a day :nana: :nana: :nana:

As well as the world cup cricket

Beginning of spring....

Good evening, boys and girls.... :)

Sorry I didn't get to wish everyone a good morning but I was running a bit behind schedule this morning. Yep I wanted to clean the snow off the side walk and the driveway of so the sun could get'm back down to black top again...:) Much like you Hazeny this morning was chilly and windy. Then the wind died down and it wasn't to bad. Ya know it's sad when 40 degree's feels warm to you.

Doc glad to hear you enjoyed the trip. I'm sorry bro but the trip down to washington in 20 degree weather was just to cold for my sweet ass. Like your Dad I know to many names on that wall. If I were to gaze into that polished surface I would see the faces of those that didn't make it back, It took me a while to get my head screwed on right. Don't wanna start re living it again once was enough. I've only seen pictures of the stone garden. I want to do some research. I understand as a veteran that I can request a military funeral and buried there. I think I would be at peace there. Lying among the guys I served with. It's funny the bond that grows between soldiers disregaurding what war. I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with a guy that served in WWII. Even though I one of those crazy ol'e Nam vets he and I shared a closeness. Doc your a hell of a good man. You've done your Dad proud... ;)

Actually KnightWing I grew up on Long Island, NY. I spent a lot of time in NYC. I guess I citied myself out and move into the country. Population of Woodbury is under 8,000. Were still small compared to other towns across the nation.

Snake I am happy to hear your getting your much needed rain. Rumors have it that were supposed to see 60 degrees this Saturday. I wanna wander around outside in a T shirt and a smile.

Secret, my friends know that my front door is never locked. The cook out will be open house to the Biker's run members. I have never turn a friend away from my table. Just don't be embrassed if you get asked to show off your tits... So you a friend or what?

Now last but not least, Sassykat. Darl'n wished ya didn't tell me that it wasn't you in the AV. I have played some very naughty fantasies in my mind look'n at that AV... I bet there was a couple of morning you woke up wearing a cheshire cat smile and didn't know why. Now ya do! This may sound stange com'n for a 6' 2" guy weighing in a 200lbs but I've always enjoyed bird watching. But then again I love nature. About 4 yrs ago I was loosing my sight. I had to have a operation on both eyes. The operation was a big success and I now have perfect vision. I think that has actually stengthened my love of nature Oh and I agree with your advice to Secret about finding a biker guy. But not just any biker. Sorry but the weekend biker in the three peice Brooks brother suit. Hells bells the biker ladys I now would kill'm... ;) Bike biker's I'm refering to know the meaning of "Ride'n hard, put away wet... :D "

OK gang it's time for me to get outta my work clothes and get a shower. If one or both you lady's wanna join me in the shower I wouldn't mind. I don't know if it's my back that has got'n wider or my arms got larger but I have a hell of a time wash'n my back. Promise to make it worth your while... ;)

Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Hey my friend. Not sure if you signed a contract on cable TV yet. But you may want to investigate satellite TV. Satellite TV is a digital signal and clearer than most cable. Plus a lot of their channels are high definition. Just a thought mate... :D

Something made me stop in here...guess there is just something really sexy about a biker. I had to come in and check out the man who runs this place. Sexy...as I suspected. ;)

Thank you so much. I will stop by again. I could use a "family" to be part of. :cathappy:

Just wanted....

to say good evening to all the riders out there tonight. Here in the Lou the weather is finally breaking. I've been able to get some riding in every few weeks, but not as much as last winter.

It appears the Missouri is considering repealing their helmet law this year (and i just got used to wearing one). Now i'm not anti-helmet in fact i'm used to wearing mine now, but having started riding bikes over in Illinois i got used to not using one.

Anyway. You all stay safe and enjoy the rides!

Mike
