g-evenin' everyone,

...Gawd, i almost hate to tell everyone how great the day has been, here, in the western tip, of the ol' dominion. I was up early, havin' a great day, moved the cows, and worked on the fence some more. Took a ride later, to the alphabet store... ;) (thats abc store), and have worked around here all day.
...Nice ride hazeny, that would be for you and doc, both. I would like to come north, ridin', but always wanted to come up, early in the season, for a JETS game, but the durn things are sold out, for years in advance it seems. Kinda like jades cookout, would luv to come up, but just a bit far, for a weekend ride...
...Good to see ya in here bimori, press the issue man, and get the bike out...
...Hope everyone has agreat weekend, and don't forget to set your cloks-up...

...ride safe, but ride...

Howdy all.

Rode in to class this morning. It had just stopped raining and was 40 degrees,, but it was supposed to be sunny and 50 when I was gonna be coming home,,, so I took the chance. Glad I did. Beautiful afternoon. Still snow on the sides of the roads and in the yards.... but the roads are mainly dry and the rain helped wash away the salt. Still rinsed the bike down when I got home.

Hope everyone gets to get out and in the wind soon.

Stay safe.

Beautiful day here as well. 60 plus. Same tommorrow. Little rain tonight but that is ok clear in the morning.

No I did not get any M/C ride time in I was otherwise occupied

Jaded I know what you mean about the wall bro. Did you see the Discovery show where they were embedded with a National Guard Unit. Those were my buddies. I served in the 39th INF for 3 years. Could not stand to watch the show. For a while I read the blog of a local reporter who was also embedded until the "Bloodiest Day" in Arkansas Military History and 5 of my buddies from my old unit died. 2 from my old squad that I was squad leader of. That one hit me so hard I had to call in sick to work for 3 days. Then I made the pilgramage to Little Rock to the memorial that includes all the names of soldiers who have died from Arkansas. Lost it again. So I can imagine how you would feel buddy.

My father also did Nam. 69-72. He got hooked into it heavily. Yeah he was one of those like the dear hunter that really got into it and wanted to stay. In fact mom had to tell him that if he did not come home she would divorce him. Don't think she ever would have but it got him home before he reupped for another. He is really f'ed up from it. 100 percent disabled from PTSD plus has many other things wrong with him. I hear that is quite a feat to get 100 percent on a mental. He is really messed up. He WANTS to go to the wall but is not sure how it will hit him.

I am doing this GOE thing as my way of support for out troops. However, I am more doing it to help protect my dad's and all the other 'Nam vet's wall as this same group defaced monuments, the capital, etc. last time they were around. If this were a counter protest I am not sure I would be there. I have expressed my opinoin on this war in the past. However, for the wall and for any other monumnets they put us around, I am there.

Good morning, everyone.... :)

It's the start of another work week. This weekend was busy for me. Had to work unexpectedly on Saturday...:( So that left me with getting everything done I needed to get done in one day. Now it's Monday again. It's a vicious cycle...

The good thing is it looks like winter is loosing it grip on New England. The ice is melting in the yard. My blue birds have returned and I've evens seen my first robin this year. I see were everyone seemed to have a good weekend. Still to much sand and salt on the road for all the biker's in the area to be out in force. If it gets warm the season will be starting.... :D

Hear ya Dr on your Dad. Nam changed a lot of good men. I had been there just 2 weeks when I carryed a High School best friend away from a fire fight on my shoulder to a extraction zone. He had been hit in the chest with automatic weapons fire. We didn't have vests. Medics pronounced him dead at the chopper. But I didn't leave him behind to be chopped up. That day changed my life. If you didn't look like me and was waiving a weapon around it was my job to light your ass up and I was very very good at it. Much like your Dad I would have probably stayed if I hadn't gotten hit myself in my 12 month. But my war is over now... :D I was de briefed and allowed to go home! Ever wonder what would happen if the government through a war and no one came... Vet Nam 1966 and 1967...

Well gang time to get ready for work. Want to wish everybody a super great day... :D

Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Good evening, everyone... :)

The final end to a long work day... :D Well the weather has seem to take a turn around. Today the high was 57 degrees in land and tomorrow temperature is supposed to hit 65... :) However, Thursday it's supposed to turn around and get cold again. Friday we have cold weather coming out of Canada and moisture coming off the Atlantic. Friday night we stand a very good chance of a Nor Easter. Their predicting snow... I just can't catcha a break no how...:(

Hope everyone is having a better week than me.

Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

SNOW? Really? WOW we are getting a bit of a cold snap but no snow according to the weatherman. Yesterday, I even had to strip my jacket off and ride short sleaved because it was so awesomely warm. High almost 80 degrees here in Northern VA. Wooo hooo. Little frosty weather with the cold snap coming but still highs in the 50's for the wall run this weekend.

Good morning, everyone... :)

The sun is starting to brighten the morning. I am hoping to get out of work early today so I can enjoy this nice day. Well guys this is New England. New England'rs have a saying " If your don't like New Englands weather hang around for a few minutes cause it will change... :D ". I can't believe that the weather guesser's were prediciting snow starting Friday night. I hope their wrong. Anything I have to shovel I don't like...:(

Dr. enjoy the wall run this weekend. Hopefully you'll have your new back rest to keep you company.

Webbo I do hope your healing well my friend. Enjoy your riding weather.

Ok gang have a super great hump day. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Turning of the clock increases thermometer!

Man...talk about changes...it went from like 40 to almost 80 yesterday...it was so nice it was scary...I actually lugged my leathers along because it was too nice to believe and the view from the plains of the mountains is something you got to see. I was tempted to just keep going to California on the bike, then last night the weatherman burst the bubble saying its going to be back in the 50's today with no precip. I can handle that. I have to add another $1000 worth of chrome and electronics and then I'm set for the year.

Hey Doc is that the ride to the Vietnam Wall of rememberence in WashingtonDC???

Done that once when Paul Revere and the Raiders braught out their album "Ride to the wall"

Really wanna do it again

Even got me a copy of the CD :D

Hope it's a good one for you

Good evening, gang... :)

Today was absolutely beautiful... :) We didn't make it to the 67 degree mark like the weather guesser's said but I'll settle for 62 degrees... :) It's difficult to believe that we're going to be back into the 20's over the weekend with more snow...:( Well I guess shit happens...

Well Dinny I have been toying with the idea of adding a GPS unit to the bike. How cool would that be... :D I bought the bike last year. Now that I own it I notice some scratches on the left saddle bag (re painted and re striped) so I would like to have that taken care of. Plus there are scratchs on the right side chrome engine gaurd and the passenger leg gaurd. There not bent so it would be a matter of removing them and having them rechromed. The prior owner chromed the hell out of it and the cases that weren't available in chrome he polished the hell out of. The speakers in the fairing are just standard speaker. I was thinking about upgrade to tri axis speaker. I still need to add a trailer hitch and flag/hitch attachment for parades/funerals (PGR requirement). That deep wine red and all that chrome makes her a real pretty girl... :D

Doc I keep hope'n the weather holds out for you my friend this weekend and your run to the wall... ;)

Webbo you ol'e goat your dating yourself with stuff like Paul Revere and "Ride to the wall"... :D

OK one and all have a great evening. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

I can't help myself man....I started with a group of Nam vet's in San Fran Cisco and Rode to the wall with them, meeting other Vets on the way...ended up being the only Aussie there.....got on really well with the other Vets and made a prommise to do it again with them when I could...hopefully in the next couple of years I will

...G-mornin' everyone,

....Been awhile since I checked in here, and seems the thread is pickin' up, thanx to the DE-liteful input from secretlove....I would concur secret, not only bikers, but can assure ya all long-haired country boys do as well... ;) .....
....I have several friends I ride with jade, who have gps's, they are a nice addition, altho like I tell them, as long as the road don't turn to gravel, I can't be lost...I would like to have one myself, but for the money, just can't see it rite now...If you do get one, be sure and get one big enuff to be seen/use while ridin'...
....Noticed your post on snowshoe doc, I have friends here, who have been up there several times, was just talkin' to him, and said they were thinkin' 'bout goin' back this year. Said its some perty nice ridin', and the party ain't bad either... ;)
....Been beautiful here, but reckon that may be changin' tonite/tomorrow, altho I ain't so sure. Was in the 80's, the last couple of days, is one reason why I been away from the keyboard, just too damn nice to be in the house...
....Did get a nice ride in Sunday afternoon, down and checked out the flea market, then made a nice lil' scenic loop back home. Really felt good, seems like I haven't got much saddle time in, since this gr-daughter came into our life. Hell, even got me lookin' for a bigger camper, since we can't be pullin' the one with the bike...
....Hope your feelin' better webb, and enjoyin' the warm days of your ridin' season, won't be long till it'll be our time...
....Gotta get off here, and get the day started, hope everyone has a great Thursday.....

Good morning, everyone... :)

It's a rainy morning here in Woodbury, CT. The weather guesser's are still saying we have a nor easter coming in Friday night with plowable amounts expected...:(
Now that sucks and not in the good way...!

Snake always good to see you my friend. It's a loving cycle. You raise your kids, then along come the grand kids and it starts all over agian. I think that you'll have to find a side car for your bike for daughter and grand daughter if your planning on getting any saddle time this year.

Good morning, Secretlove69. Welcome to are little thread. When your here your always among friends. I may have started the thread but it belongs to everyone here. Both Webbo and myself want to thank your for your talented skills last night. Can't speak for Webbo but I know I feel much light this morning. You are such a naughty little vixen... ;)

Well gang it's time for me to get ready for work. Wanna wish one and all a super great day... :D

Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)
