Biker's Run..........................

Good evening, everyone... :)

Woohoo it's the weekend... :nana: This work week seemed to last for ever. Tomorrow I want to start bring out the grilles and patio furniture. I have a couple of spots in the yard that needs to be re grass seeded. It is my belief that by doing this that winter will get the hint and finally leave... :D I have cabin fever big time!

Secret I think this morning would have been the ideal morning to have just snuggled up in that California king size water bed of mine. After it warmed up I am dam sure we could think of something to do for a few hours... :p :p :p

Hazeny, so sorry to hear about your threat of snow next week. Shit dude this has to be the winter that refuses to end...

I do hope that everyone has something planned for the weekend... ;)

Its been o.k here, other than rain for a very long time. Tommorrow is supposed to be nice again. The constant rain stopped last week. Its been a tiring very difficult week, so my only plans are relaxing. Going for an icecream and to the park would be nice. Oh, and I need to get my hair done. I feel more at peace than I have in a long time. There are still bad days, but I think I'm going to be o.k now.

I want to watch lots of t.v, while laying in bed. Perhaps some movies. Eat some junk food. Weekends are best for some junk food. I generally eat very reasonably, but we have to indulge, or be bad sometimes. Otherwise life just wouldn't be worth living. :)

J babe - nothing sounds better than catching a wave on your water bed. Flowing with the motion of the ocean.
Here's a pic of a really nice bike. Can hardly wait to straddle this beauty (and it's owner)

In all the excitement of seeing my bike posted here on biker's run I neglected to thank you Secret for resizing it for me. I have the resized file copied to my id. That was a vice nice of you...

Good morning, everyone... :)

It's a sunny morning here in the small town of Woodbury, CT. While at HomeDepot last night picking up some Scott's grass seed to repair the lawn after the winter I stumbled upon the ideal ramp for getting my bike in and out of my storage unit. Were I store my bike there is a four inch high concrete foundation. It was a bear lifting the front and rear tire in when I stored it. This ramp is about 6 foot long and folds down to approximately 3 foot it is about a foot wide. Life just keeps getting easier... :D

Today I need to get the broken branches and leaves racked up in the yard. Re seed the patches of lawn that died over the winter. I want to sweep the sand from the driveway back into the street before the town comes by with the road sweeper. Then bring out the grilles and patio furniture. Don't give a dam if it's still cold outdoors.

I made mention before about doing a Biker's run cook out for us to get to meet. I am tentatively throughing the date of May 20th as are first cook out. It is the Sunday after Mother's day and the weekend before Memorial day. It is a way that you'll get to meet some of the other people that you have meet here. A Sunday of good food, good friends, and good times. I have been doing these cook outs here on Lit for about 4 years and meet some super great people. Just wanted to give everyone a date to mark down on the calender... :D I will post the menu and more about the cook out here on are thread... ;)

OK, I need to get some breakfast in me before starting the day. Want to wish everybody a super great day... :) Catcha later.

G-mornin' everyone,

...Like I had mentioned, I took yesterday off, told 'em at work, it had been 3 months in comin'. I rode down into the Carolinas, lil' country road, that brought me out below the Smokies. Then a ride back thru Cherokee, across the smokie mtns, Gatlinburg, gawd it was crowded, guess a lot of folks are out enjoyin' our 80 degree days in march. Stopped for Ky. fried chicken on the way in. Was a slow warmin', but finally a beautiful afternoon, all in all enjoyed it, and needed it sooo badly...
...Nice ride jade, am sure ya are wantin' the weather to break and get that baby out for a spin. That was very nice of secret to post that for ya.
...Good to see new faces, and welcome lorelei, we are one big family, who happen to enjoy the 2-wheel lifestyle. Fun and addictin' as they are...hope you stay with us, and continue posting..
...Gotta go, I am babysittin' this mornin', and i think she is wantin' her papa..
...hope everyone has a great day....

....Practice safe lunch...
....Use Condiments....

Thanks snake. :)

Sounds like you had a nice day. I'm not sure of how far you went in terms of miles. I'm canadian so I have no idea of those locations you mentioned. I've always thought it would be nice, to just be out on the road, and a bike has that feel of freedom to it. I do have some fear when thinking of being on the back of one. You know, nothing between the pavement and my body. It would take a lot of trust in the driver for me to do it. :)

I've been craving K.F.C on and off for awhile. Maybe I'll get some this weekend. Its the best chicken on earth. :)

Hi Lorelei - nothing to fear riding a bike any more than stepping out of a bathtub. :D Take it from one who's ridden backseat on many bikes and have always had a very safe ride - just relax - if you tense up you'll just make it more difficult for the driver. (and whatever you do don't yell into the helmet mic ;) - right Smuttboy?? )

Now.....see what ya'll have done - it's a KFC epidemic - chicken for supper tonight.

Oh and J darlin' - no problem on your bike pic. I'll resize anything you got (smaller to larger that is :p )

Hope you all are having a great weekend......just issued a tornado watch here - supposed to do this on and off the rest of the weekend. So much for working or playing outside.

Mmm hmm, but my brain is not going to tell me that when on a bike, no matter how true it is. :) Taking a bath seems so much safer, and I'm in control of it.

I doubt many, if any... would want to take me for a ride. Not only would I be tense, but there is a good chance I'd have my arms around them as be freaking out squeezing a bit to hard at times.

I'd have to know them well, know they are a good driver. Then, we'd have to have talks about how they promise not to scare me. Promise on.... a stack of bibles.. wait, that may not be the best idea. Promise sincerely while looking in my eyes. :D

Back when I used to run ambulance we picked up a lady once that had fallen in her tub while taking a shower. She fell backward and basically impaled herself onto her faucet handle (sorry for the graphics) but she wasn't so much in control was she? ;)

Anyway, I'm sure the guys wouldn't complain too loudly about you hanging on to them or looking in to your eyes. Just make sure not to squeeze anything too tightly - it's better to be able to breathe when you're driving a bike. :D

I would have to say I don't know some of these fellas all that well but I trust them to be good drivers and gentlemen and would hop on their bike with them any time.

...lol, didn't know I was gonna start a KFC blitz, wasn't even sure many even knew of KFC, oh well, always good to see its far reaching.
...Not to fear lorelei, I don't know of anyone who would intentionally scare someone on a bike, not even sure i would have taken a chance like that, when I was a kid. Besdies, on my bike, you set more like someone in a recliner, with arm-rests and all, then someone on a bike. ya Set more like a queen... ;) ...but ya could hang on, all ya want.... :)
...oh, and the trip i was talkin' 'bout, lil o'er 300 miles, not a big day, but was a much needed ride. Oh, and finished off the last of the chicken tonite...It really is the best chicken on earth... :)
...Hope everyone had a great day, like I said earlier, I was baby sittin' earlier, but then did get the yard mowed, and weedeat. Givin' rain for later tonite, but not so sure 'bout that, if not, am gonna take in another big flea market tomorrow...
...Ohhh, and secret, hope they are wrong 'bout your severe weather, keep your head down hon...
...Heres hopin everyone has a great weekned....

Old Momma Nature is having a hissy fit - kinda warmish - high 50's and tornado warnings now. Nothing very close to us, we're just getting rain and thunder. Good snugglin' weather. BUT, by midweek we are supposed to be down in the 30's again and snow flurries. CRIPES!!!! I can hardly wait for those nice 80 degree days and someone (ANYONE) to show up to take me away on their bike. I promise I'll save all the tight squeezing and screaming for after we get off the bike. ;)

Hey I've ridden in tornadoes before . No worries . But the 80's does seem much better . :D

Well, now that's a bit extreme even for me. I've been in a pick-up chasing them and in a firetruck tucked under a bridge trying to spot them but never on an open vehicle. I would think the hail that generally accompanies then would be hard on your body - unless you're in to abuse. :p
Just had a loud clap of thunder here - dimmed the lights and put all the cats into fits. Now I have to dig them out from under the furniture. :catroar:

Oh I don't go looking for them Love . I have been in a couple while riding . I was very lucky both times . The other side of town got wiped out . Someone was watching out for me . :D

LOL - well didn't think you were silly enough to go looking for trouble. Those of us of a certain vintage aren't fools (not about most things anyway) ;)

As long as you were the reward I'm sure I would face any danger . :D

Don't risk your life for me babe - I used to walk into burning buildings for a living and it wasn't that great - most of the time. But, I'd walk into flames to save you. :rose: You might need some O2 or a little mouth to mouth (or mouth to something  )
ooooh I'm feeling a little frisky tonight - must be the wild weather.

I'm aware of the statistics on bathtub injuries. Still, looking at the pavement is worse for me. I'm rather careful in the bath. I have a good bath mat. When in the tub, I use a face cloth on the edge to get in and out.

Yeah... the air thing is a problem. lol

I trust people slowly a bit at a time, over a long time. So, like I said, I'd have to know them very well.

Your having tornado's out your way. That would seriously scare me, we don't have them here.

I don't imagine you get any wild storms like we do up your way. I love tornadoes - the clouds, the wind, the wild unbridled power of nature. I'm not nuts about them at night cuz' they're difficult to spot unless you have a lot of lightening to back light them. But you can for sure always hear a tornado - sounds like a freight train coming right for you. I've seen my share and seeing is the only way I really want to experience one. The destruction is so unpredictable.

It's good your cautious Lore - somebody has to be - cuz' I tend to just act first and ask questions later.

...Ride safe, but ride....

Thats a nice long day ride. :) Now thats what I like, the King and Queen... perfect!

The only time I tried was a short ride with my brother in law, and I was a kid and tense the whole time.

I like the idea of it. The wind around my whole body, it seems like you are much more a part of the countryside or place your at, than when in a car. So, maybe some day, if I should meet someone, I'll do it. Take a day trip like you did.

K.F.C is the best, I believe it was his grandmothers recipe. I have no idea how she did it.

Someone gave me the recipe from the internet I believe. You can get them for Wendy's chili and pretty much anything. I tried it, and it tastes very much the same, yet not the same. It needs to be deep fried to be the same and thats just way to much. I don't have a deep fryer. So, just easier to buy it.

I've pulled a few off the pavement. Some have been in pieces and some were still wrapped in their leathers. I've only ever lost one and after I got back to the station I cried my eyes out.
I'll save you babe and any other biker that comes my way. I luv all you guys (one at a time or all at once  )

This past year we did for the first time. The first level of hurricane force winds, tree's down everywhere. Normally, nothing wild.

Yes, people say thats what it sounds like, but you dont' have much time.

I'm cautious. I take calculated risks, when I do take risks. Relationships are definately risks.

I always do a complete head to toe check – very thorough – repeating some areas as needed. ;)
