I hate to leave this fabulous party, but if I don't go now, I won't get any dinner. And the low blood sugar is making me punchy. Don't want to faint during my spanking.

bj

I've had this happen. MIS has a new rule, and that is that we have juice or something sugary, around whenever we have an extended scene planned. And I will probably pick up some ammonia caps just in case.

----

Homburg, a little emotional nudity from time to time ain't so bad. We all feel the need to strip...sometimes the weight of your own skin can drag you down if you don't shed it.

:eek::eek::eek:

Bj and Homburg, you guys make the learning process so much fun, and way more perverse than any classroom ought to be. I'd have payed more attention in school if I'd had teachers like you.

This is honestly as fine a compliment as any that I have ever received. Thank you.

----

hee hee. I bet that evil dom Homburg will offer some suggestions.

bj

I could offer some suggestions. I've been known to do so in the past.

----

Ohhh evil Dom advice huh? Hmm, that might have a duel impact on me. Interesting.

Don't go!! Dont they deliver. Damn them!!

Sorry, as stated above, we don't deliver, and travel expenses and arrangements are your to bear. I can actually suggest a kinky travel agent. And, no, I am NOT kidding.

Hmmm, okay. So...I can't mail you to Bijou? She needs a serious kilt spanking. Are you sure? I would do a very good job of licking the envelope.

ETA: Um, you don't me all that well so I just wanted to say that I don't mean any disrespect to you or your lifestyle choices. I am universal in my lack of seriousness.

There was actually talk at one point of the Kansas Connection getting together a pool to fly me out to Kansas for a weekend for a demo. I still think they need to get on this.

Me too!! I'll buy more jewelry if that's what it takes!

This has "story" written all over it. Do tell. <asking nicely>

Do any of you gorgeous, empathetic psychics know about THIS?

what an amazing article! Thanks Carrie.

I just told Ange the other night i was a hermit sometimes, and maybe that explains it somewhat.

I gotta get some sleep tonight. I have been staying up late all week watching the DVD's of first season Millennium my girlie gave me and that in itself has drained me, but I love that macabre stuff as an escape sometimes. poor ol Frank Black, he really got the short straw when it comes to empathy.

sweet dreams y'all

Oddly enough, not really. Said kinky travel agent is a fellow Litster, and an awesome person. We've broken bread together, and she's a blast to hang out with. She just recently started up a small travel agency, and is actually organising a Lit Cruise on the BDSM boards. Well, has organised. People are signing up even now.

Etoile is her Lit ID. She rocks.

lol Nope. I'm just a long distance costumer who loves jewelry specially made by special hands.

Ah, gotcha. Buy more jewelry then.

Carry on :D

Hello to all of you who have expressed an interest in where I've been. Sure has been busy and buzzy in here the past couple of days. Lots to think about, lots to consider. Hope the storms in Kansas are a thing of the past.

First off, I've been packing. We're leaving next Thursday for Virginia (Chincoteague/Assateague, for anyone who cares), and when we get back, the movers will arrive in five days. So we have had to get a lot of shit done this weekend.

Second, making Key lime pies for everyone we need to see before we leave. This place has been my home on and off since I was eleven, and the house is the one I moved into when we first got here. I bought it from my mother back in the early eighties when she needed to downsize, and I couldn't bear to see it pass into other hands. I also recognized then what it was worth, and what it would be worth many years later. It is, after all, waterfront, on an island, facing the beautiful hi-rises of Miami Beach and with a strong telescope, from my dock, I could see the parties in the back yard whenever Madonna was in town. Apparently she and Guy have had a falling out recently, so maybe the Madonna view may lose value to the the next tenant.

Third, I dropped in a time or two over the weekend, but just couldn't--can't, won't ever be able to--participate in a discussion of abuse and pain and beating and blades and such, to the level of detail to which the bistro has gone.

My father started beating me when I was three. The beatings stopped when he died (I was seventeen). He used sticks, blades, hand tools, whatever was within reach, to beat the shit out of me whenever the mood struck him, and often for no other reason than I was in the room when he got angry about something. He wasn't ever drunk, he was just an angry guy and ill equipped for children, and when I was two and a half, my sister was born profoundly handicapped. My parents were advised to let her die in the delivery room, he opted not to do that, and then devoted the rest of his life to caring for her, and I was an inconvenience.

So, when a discussion turns to pain, cutting, whipping, stuff like that, I just retreat into a little ball in the corner and cringe when someone mentions sexual arousal from pain. Not only do I not get it, but I begin to flash back, it all comes flooding back, and I retreat. The whole dominance/submission/BDSM/kinks-that-involve-giving-or-receiving-pain-thing makes me sick to my stomach, and I run screaming into the night and go vomit on something.

Sorry.

When he lost his temper, I never did anything, I never fought back, I never argued, I never reported it to anyone, I just curled up in a ball and took it (submissive?). He drew blood, he broke limbs, he left scars on my body and on my psyche that years and years of therapy have not made a dent in, and I've just learned to cope. My ability to compartmentalize is astounding (sometimes scares the bejeezus out of AA and the kids--I didn't cry when my mother died, I just went to the funeral and went back to work--AA is convinced that I am a psychopath, but a benevolent one, and mostly harmless).

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE don't allow my shit to cause anyone to watch what they say because of me. This is a ME problem, and I deal with it just fine. I'm not the least bit judgmental about anyone else's thrill set. Whatever you do, whoever you do it to or with, is cool. This cannot--MUST NOT--turn into an elephant in the room. But I'm just saying what I feel. I gotta do that.

...takes a deep breath...

Ange, your apple galette is unbelievably impressive--wish I had some right about now...
and your cheesecake recipe is spot on. Almost identical to mine. But I have a confession: whenever I make the cheesecake (about twice a year), I make a thin layer of sour-cream frosting for the top, put huge fresh strawberries on top of the frosting, caps cut flat and the points facing up, and then I make a glaze out of strawberry jelly, cornstarch and Amaretto and pour it over the strawberries. I'm generally a purist on desserts (simple, straightforward and all that), but this is my one over-the-top creation.

Hey folks, I love all of you. Every single one of you (except for the guy with the erection AV--I don't get that). My life would be WAY less without the Bistro. You all are the most intelligent, caring, sweet, talented, and wise people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I hope I never leave here. I'm not planning to. I do run off occasionally, but I'll always, ALWAYS come back, until you tell me not to.

I, too, kiss the floorboards of the Bistro. With tongue even.

And Ange, AA and I were looking for a community of faith, with people we liked, with people with whom we had something in common, with people who did not judge, with people who believe in faith but live and let live. We found Unitarian Universalism. It's really strange, but the Winter Solstice celebration is worth the price of admission.

Love to all. Be back soon.

I don't really know you well enough to impose a hug on you but you can walk in for one if ya want it. :)That was a very hug worthy post. To say I am sorry for your life struggles sounds so small. I can only see that a great person has come out of it all and I am glad to have met him.

Travel safely

Nah, brother. There is a huge difference between being submissive, and being a kid with no choice in the matter.

I'm sorry that I caused you grief. The core, consistent center of what I do is consent. All parties involve consent to be involved, or you don't do whatever it is you want to do. In this case, you don't consent to be involved in the discussion. Yeah, it's the internet, and an explicit corner of the internet, so you consent to frank discussion, but we have a board for taking on this subject.

My apologies. I recognise that Consent has been revoked.

It's a bit of a weak spot for me. I definitely don't need encouragement. :)

Do any of you gorgeous, empathetic psychics know about THIS?

well, that first page described me and my ex-husband. My ex was so emotionally cut-off that he would actually stand uop and turn his back to me whenever i tried to talk to him... and, i don't mean blaming, angry talks.. just anything that required an emotional connection or thought.

Oooooooo. Pretty!

You seem to have a very solid understanding of said weak spot.
My whole life could be said to be focused on, y'know, girls' weak spot. But we may not be talking about the same thing, there.

Almost certainly not. I did tell you, that buying jewelry was a pleasure I missed.

Not perhaps that $5100 CDN stuff, but the general idea.

I don't usually consider that spot weak but we may have strayed into semantics.
;)

I can't even explain the pleasure I get out of jewelery. It's bizarre. I don't think I could feel $5100 worth of pleasure though and the pressure not to lose them would be insane.

Bijou has much more affordable stuff that is very pretty.

ah heck, I can't sleep. I guess it's my new pain meds keeping my heart racing...

but Anschul, I am so glad you popped in. I'm so very sorry you have experienced so much pain. And most of us who spoke about certain painful things did it in a way as to help one another, not to glorify....but, I did read what you said about the elephant in the room, I just hope he leaves MY piece of cheesecake alone, and I have a poem for you. An older one of mine. It brought me peace just to write it. love to you and yours. I wish you safe trip and a safe happy move.

feeding the winter solstice

Picture these words,presented as art
to be digested and savored,
as multi-syllabic minestrone
complemented with warm bread
good friends and a bottle of wine.

Sometimes I drink my wine alone
and think of places and friends.
I reveal my quirks and passions
with words
so that you might finally know me.

In my life, there has been some sadness
puddles of sorrow do exist.
But they gather and form an oasis of joy
and from this lonely, mirrored pond
I am nourished and continue to grow.

You give me fruits and perfumes disguised
as kindness, wisdom and knowledge.
These gifts take root and spring from my soul
in spicy and verdant outbursts of song.

You bloom on empty pages and thrive,
despite the solemn pallor of December's
darkest day. You have fed to me
your tales of forever
and today, oh joyous garden

let me feed you.

Welcome back, and a basket of hugs for you. Pull up to the bar and carve your name in it. We wouldn't dream of telling you not to come back. Quite frankly, we demand that you do. And not just 'cause you feed us. Them's just fringe benefits.

:rose:

Jean, I adore you. Thank you, thank you. I meant everything I've ever said to you. The previous rant was basically me processing all the stuff I read over the weekend. Stuff comes back, you know? I know it was all meant to help...I get that, and I admire those who help others...wish I could do more of it. It just was...you know...I was all emotional about packing up a house I've been around since 1958, you know? Lots of memories, not all of them good, kids asking questions, wife trying to keep us all on task...just a lot going on, and every time I came back to the Bistro, I read stuff that just hooked me into, well, you know...
It's Monday, and all is right with the world...
But thanks, Dear NJ. You guys here keep me sane.

No, no, no. That's not what I meant, bro. It's a ME problem, and I don't want you taking anything negative away from it. I was not trying to be critical or judgmental or anything, I just got hooked into my past (please see previous reply to NormalJean). I was all emotional because of packing up a house I've been in since the fifties. It's not you, it's not the content, it's not any of that...you are who you are, and I dig that...wish I had the emotional freedom you do...I just don't. But as I said last eve, being a Unitarian means allowing you as much freedom as I expect for myself. DO NOT change your tone or your content because I am here. I appreciate difference, and relish them. I am learning stuff from you and BJ that I knew nothing about before I got here. If you take it away, you change what this place is. And then I'll feel guilty about THAT, too. I was raised an Orthodox Jew. I have too much guilt already. Please don't change...I can't go to the other boards, and if you go, I'll never learn. When I stop learning, I die...
