just to get it out of the way, the little one is improving slowly but steadily. also, hospital life sucks under the best of circumstances.

I am gradually building a new life here, and enjoying trying new things. had a blast at an English country dance meetup, and tonight I'm going to a board game gathering. a roomful of sexy bearded nerds-- mmm! I wonder if i can find someone to suck my toes...

next up-- beekeeping classes, and aerial yoga!! :nana:

wish I had more time to hang out with you lovely pervs. happy Threeway Thursday, everyone!

Honey hugs!

I'm willing to bet you will find the perfect pair of bearded nerds, one for each foot.

Aerial yoga looks so fun--but I have yet to take the plunge. Let me know how you like it. :)

smooch! Threeway Thus is awesome, but I will admit to missing well dressed Wednesdays. *le sigh*

A chocolate layer cake, a double batch of lemon curd, and a lemon mousse cake, a double batch of chocolate chip cookies, and candied lemons for garnish. . .not bad after a 10 hour day at work. I need to go to bed, like now.

Just because there's a big sign out front that says "Vacationland", doesn't mean everyone within driving distance has to try to get in all at once.

But...its the way life's supposed to be. :D

:)

It is the way life should be! But getting back home today was torture. It took us twice as long to get home as it did to get to MA. There's a toll plaza in NH that has 2 lanes designated for EZ-Pass. You can drive through at 65 mph. We crawled through at 11 mph.

Traffic finally cleared up around Portland.

I grew up somewhere between 30 and 100 miles north of Portland. There's a reason why the natives never, ever use the turnpike on the weekends during summer. I hope, at least, that you got a good lobster roll. ;)

Technically, I'm not a native.....but I have been here since I was 12. Let's just say it's been a good, long while. :) Generally, I try to avoid the turnpike during summer weekends.

I may be the only girl in the state who doesn't like lobster. Yuck! :)

Ah, there's your problem. Heading into MA should be avoided at all costs, just on principle. :)

What's really funny is that we were behind a particularly bad driver today and my daughter (11) takes one look at their plate and days "well there ya go; they're from Massachusetts". :D

Babyminx would have chimed in with "Massholes". I won't even mention what we call Connecticut drivers.

I'mma do the math on that real quick . . . 3 . . . carry the 1 . . . divided by 5 . . .

For shame, for shame!!! You've been a bad girl, go to my room this instant!

Avatar here we come

:nana: gee, but that av looks familiar... ;)

the little one has been having a rough go of it and is back on ICU status,

and her mother is in desperate need of a good rogering, but appears to be on the wrong continent.
at this point, I am willing to roll around in Saucy's lemon curd and pay someone to lick me clean. any takers?

My daughter is quite familiar with the term "Massholes". LOL She's just too little to use it yet. Aside from backing into an occasional dumpster, what's wrong with Connecticut drivers?!? :D It can be scary driving thru CT, especially if you're in a car my sister is driving. I once had tears in my eyes.

You know the best part about being 43? The fact that my boyfriend will always be older.

Exactly. I have been trying to remove the "Massishness" from my driving. No talking on the cell phone, no reading the newspaper, I take a look at a map before I leave on a long journey, I remember the highway is not my personal property and not to treat it like my driveway. Turn signals are not optional equipment.

What did I miss? :)

I figure if I add being pleasant and courteous to others I will be asked to leave the state.

Ah, I see. You're from away. That explains a lot.;)
