Had a similar experience when I drove The Daughter to visit Miami of Ohio. I napped a bit on the return trip and when I woke I could see the speedo needle steady at 80. I took over shortly thereafter.

I know the feeling. My daughter got her learner's permit a couple of weeks ago. I let her drive on a 250 mile road trip last weekend. It's all 75mph interstate from here to there, but there was very little traffic. I did have to mention a few times that she needed to back off the gas, but she only veered into the drunk bumps a few times.

The little one is doing okay, thank you.

She's currently fighting a case of pancreatitis and a bad UTI (her third), and she has a fungal-ly thing in the creases of her neck from the wrappings that keep her head dressings on. (They shaved her head to take skin for grafting.) There's always something going on, but overall her grafts are taking well for the most part, and her healing is progressing, albeit slowly.

Hope your little one is well, and planning on heading out soon!
