Blurt Thread III - Emporium of Unexpected Exclamations & Revelations

I actually really liked the movie. But after the first dozen viewings, I'm good. The soundtrack is decent, too!

Loved the soundtrack! But the movie itself was a little message heavy for me. Cute but once was enough.

Snowboards and skis are freshly waxed.

Mountain slopes, here we come!

Have a safe trip. It's too early around these parts still. Some places can open by Thanksgiving, especially if they make their own snow but it's been warm and dry.

Anna Lee

Until a kind, kind friend heard that name and busted out laughing that we were horrible parents for naming our daughter Anally. We promptly picked a new name. I'm forever grateful to her.

I'm a world class pervert and I wouldn't have thought of that. I would have thought

"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"

He said, "Do me a favor, son, won't you stay and keep Anna Lee company?"

Fine name. Fine music.

It’s the earliest some of the hills have opened in years. The higher elevations saw a good dump of snow mid-way through October, and since then it has been chilly, cold enough for the snow machines and groomers to get a nice base down on most of the runs. Some fresh snowfall over the past week has added to that.

The kids are super stoked, and insisted I add a bit of wax to the underside of their toboggans.

Human saliva, not kitty saliva, you perv.

Is kitty saliva a metaphor? I like where this is going.

I do have an unpleasant experience involving glue and nipple pasties. Pro tip: don't apply the glue right to the center of your nipple.

I can see that my worry about being a bad influence on you are unfounded. The opposite might be true.

And electric blue, to answer the glitter question. To match my arse.

"It's all over you. Electric blue".

I'd post a link to the song but it would be inappropriate.

Well, color me jealous (without glitter). The last time I went out for an early opening the runs were terrible and I could hear gravel under my skis. I enjoyed the day, but decided for the money I'd rather wait for better conditions.

Toboggans—hell yes. Skis? I would be waiting for y’all in the hot tub. I’m not aerodynamically sound.

In other news my 8 year old with a face full of stage make-up is giving me a flash forward to her teenage years and I am not enjoying it. Not one bit. 😩

Raising kids. Teenage girl years. (. Shudders from the memories ). Stay strong.

My daughter must have gotten a mutant gene because she was great from start to finish. 20 in 4 months and turning into an amazing woman. Headstrong maybe, at times but confident, giving, compassionate, smart, and adventurous. Not afraid to pee in the woods or put on heels and a dress to go dancing. And she loves hugs.

I’ve never been snow skiing. I’ve always preferred to stay in the chalet or the warm cosy bar.

This.

It will be OK. I survived Baby Minx. As her penance, I will send her to help you. :rose:

I greatly prefer sleeping back in my own bed, but can't seem to sleep in today. Being up at 6:00 on a Sunday morning is not remotely okay

I had about 20 close family and friends in my home today celebrating my baby girl's second birthday. I don't like people or crowded spaces, so I found myself alone on the back patio often. My girl cried from the moment she woke up until she had cake in her mouth. She's napping soundly now and I'm enjoying a much needed glass of wine.

Happy birthday to your daughter. Is there any leftover cake ?

its hard to have any fun with dirty underwear i imagine..

quid pro quo.. depends on the leftovers and cake

I have so many damn clothes, I could probably go a month without that problem. This is mostly duvets, curtains, throw rugs, and such.
