Boobs and Books

I have not. Do you have any recommendations?
You can't go wrong with "The Big Sleep", however it's been the basis for several movies - not always by that name or crediting Chandler, so if you watch classic crime movies it could feel familiar. After that, "The Long Goodbye, The High Window" and "Farewell My Lovely" are very good. As is the anthology "Trouble Is My Business", it's a long story anthology, which is odd in itself. Think a collection of novellas.

I'm about half way done with American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It took me a minute to get into it but it's interesting and a good read.
This is the description…
An inspired combination of mythology, adventure, and illusion, American Gods is a dark and kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth and across an America at once eerily familiar and utterly alien. It is, quite simply, a contemporary masterpiece.

I just finished The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah.
I didn’t like it as much as I liked Nightingale by her but I liked it a lot. So much that I went through it in two days.
Just placed a hold on her recent one, The Women.
Back in mid-March 2020, right around the time everything came crashing down, I had a random Twitter exchange with someone, and noticed her bio mentioned she wrote the adapted screenplay for The Nightingale, soon to be a movie starring Elle & Dakota Fanning! I asked her about it, having recently read that book at the time too, and she said pre-production was paused due to the pandemic. IMDB still lists it as being in development. Hoping it’s still in the works 🤞🏽

Nightingale is one of my all time favorites... I hope this is true. That would be amazing.

Happy June! Any other Prime subscribers here? They have a small selection of books each month from which members can pick a free book each month, and I usually pick one but they rarely make it to the front of my book queue 🫣

Would any of you like to pick a group title from Prime First to actually read with me this month?

I started this late last night and will finish it today :D

Most months I don’t even remember to pick one 🙈

I like to be read to while I work. It doesn’t matter much what the book is, I probably won’t hear much of it anyway.

Okay, back to your thread.
