Boobs and Books

Better than I expected… some issues that I think might be mine … but good.. quick, easy, sexy.
I read that over the weekend based on you mentioning it. Not characters that I could really identify with, but a fun and quick read nonetheless 😂

I’m curious about the issues you had with it?

Since my sleep is all off because I’m sick, I need another fun and easy read. Perfectly timed, this preorder just arrived tonight. I’ve really enjoyed her Truly Devious series, so I’m hoping this one is good too.

Plot holes … like…

who is having furious sexual encounters after dislocating their shoulder?? … and also … how is it she saw the bad dude on camera stalking butcher…. and then suddenly he was kicking her?

I just finished The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah.
I didn’t like it as much as I liked Nightingale by her but I liked it a lot. So much that I went through it in two days.
Just placed a hold on her recent one, The Women.

Nightingale is one of my all time favorites... I hope this is true. That would be amazing.
Just opened Goodreads and there was a notification for a recent interview with Kristin Hannah about her latest book, The Women. Posting link here, in case anyone is interested:

Reading these two at the moment. I have to take breaks from the history because the atrocities can overwhelm, but the husband in the Blood Orange book is getting on my nerves because he's gaslighting his wife. I can't win. I should color.

I’m slogging through a book too embarrassingly bad to even name here. I’ve been incrementally torturing myself with it for weeks when there are like 5 other books I reeeally want to dive into. I hate being such a completionist sometimes 😩

You KNOW you want to tell us!!

Read a couple of chapters a day and start another. Or DNF it instead of torturing yourself. I'll usually have one book...and one on my kindle/phone to read at appointments, not even every day.

I started reading it to compare with another version of the story. I think I have my answer, but the completionist in me is a stubborn ass sometimes!

I so used to be like this, then a friend convinced me that they were too many good books to ge read to get stuck on a bad one. (And by bad one I mean bad to me. 😜)
About two years ago I started to stop reading books I didn’t enjoy. I don’t do it often but I have done it and it is freeing.

That does sound blissfully freeing!

It really is freeing! And I just remind myself that I read for pleasure and there’s no reason to continue if I’m not enjoying it one way or another.

Kitty can you explain how to get these again?
Of course!

• They send out an email at the beginning of every month, and you can either click that, or log into Amazon site or app and search “first reads September 2024” and click the link on top.
• It’ll show a selection of early release ebooks (usually 5-10 each month), and tell you Prime members can pick 1 free that month. Sometimes it might be 2 free, or more often 1 free and 1 bonus short story.
• Once you’ve picked your book, just click Learn More, then Read for Free buttons!
• It should automatically send it to your Kindle device or app
