Boobs and Books

And speaking of giveaways, signing up for Simon & Schuster’s mailing list will get you a free ebook, as well as for your birth month, and any other time they’re feeling generous. I remember during the initial pandemic lockdown, they were giving away a free book every month, and they still give away a few each year, including some bestsellers!

Just got done reading Bridesmaid for Hire. It was an easy read which was funny and romantic. And just something I needed to boost back the old reading habit. Also as much as I don’t mind and enjoy reading ebooks I still get physical books to read, for instance I bought this one and couple others last month and can’t wait to read them.

I've tried, but unless it's a really compelling, extremely engaging read, I just don't do well keeping up on an e book. Last ebook I think I read was The Handmaid's Tale, because I never had, and then the US Supreme Court functionally overruled Roe, and I felt compelled to give it a read.

I'm still suffering through THE WEALTH OF NATIONS with approximately 20 books to be read after.

I read for mindless pleasure. My favorite set is Bewitched and Bewildered

I did a snaughling at several of these in public with people looking at me like I'm cray cray.

Who has read ACOTR?
I did only because @MedicalMuse and SNG were comparing characters to Litsters and I wanted in on the fun 😂

The first one dragged for me and I almost gave up. Then my male, previously assumed non-reader of a cousin rhapsodized about what an amazing writer she is even if that wasn’t his favorite of her series. So I picked up the second book which I really enjoyed. I also really liked the 5th book.

Ooooh… you’ll have to tell me the Litsters as ACOTR characters after I’m done lol

Tthoughts?
I realize it was young adult and fantasy. I’ve read one other series about Fae which I adore. Karen Marie Moning and the Fever Series. So I was curious and I did some unfair comparisons. I was a bit bored at times. It was an easy and quick read. I bought all 4 books in one for $4.99 kindle special and will continue the series. See if it gets any better for me. As well, this book was not my normal genre for reading so I’m sure that played a role in my thoughts on it.

Tthoughts?
The first one was oddly paced, had some gaping plot holes, and was a bit clunky. It wasn't bad, but it sometimes felt like a chore to get through. But the second book got way better and the series was humming after that. No one's going to confuse it with high literature, but the time I spent reading it was entertaining and well worth it.
