Butch lesbians...

Nope. It's simply that the shoes are more comfortable and you don't need to worry about getting a "run" in a pair of Dickies. ::eyeroll::

(Hint: I think your getting lesbianism and feminism kinda confused. Some of the biggest basest butch dykes and some of the most radical feminists in the world wear skirts and heels.)

Fair enough, and I understand that there's a difference. I'm talking subconscious forms of communication... why lesbians don't want to wear uncomfortable shoes. Again, trying to look at the foundational "why" question here.

You know, I've deleted three scornful and sarcastic responses to this, because I'm sure you are quite sincere here.

But yes, these things you're 'trying" to look at are exactly as you see them. There's no "subconcious" about it for us. We know what we wear and why.

Say the shoe was on the other foot (heehee). Men have been propagandised since birth that a high heel come-fuck-me pump is absolutely required if a man wants to BE a man-- forget about merely looking right, your actual social identity is wrapped up in your clothes.

Gotta wear makeup or the girls won't look at you twice, which means you are a failure as a man. You're unmanly. You aren't pretty, and who cares about your brains or courage or skills because pretty is all it's about-- for the women around you.

Suppose you realise that you don't care if the girls look at you or not. You realise that you can dress in the things they do, and be as comfortable as women are, and, incidentally, attract the attention of other men-- which is where your heart and gonads lay in the first place...

First thing to go, baby, are those goddamned shoes!:D

AND ALSO! straight women wear comfortable shoes more often than not too. Just by the way.

I kinda dig what you're saying, Sparkles, but then again I self identify as soft butch, boi, Daddi and I am NOT overly attracted to Femme women. I like my women like me~with tons of swagger, not a lot of girly ways (except for when we are both naked and panting heavy), more comfortable in boots and baggy jeans then dresses and heels.

I guess it is a personal preference all the way around. It does suck that because you are very femme, most places mistake you for straight. That doesn't mean that you should knock a boi for being a boi. Just means that some women are way more comfortable dressing the way they feel inside. For me~it's a matter of some pride that I am blessed with mega curves but I boi up VERY well.

Each woman gets comfortable in her own skin, her own way. You like being a woman. So do I. But when I am doing my normal day to day, I look very andro and don't give two farts who sees me for woman or boi. I KNOW I am a woman. I don't want to BE a man but the mannerisms, the way I carry myself, all of those things? Are part and parcel of what makes me, ME. And I am sure that these things are true for the majority of butch females as well. (Bois, Daddies, Studs, whatever you wanna call em)

Two farts? Ew... ;)

Well I might be "some idiot that likes to pigeonhole a person against their will" but that STILL doesnt change definitions. If a woman fucks other women while "sometimes" fucks guys, and intends to keep doing both as the opportunity presents itself then she is by definition a bisexual.

You might think that's unfair, but you need to take that up with those other pigionholing idiots = Mr. Webster or Msrs. Funk and Wagnall. ;)

BTW, please also do no imply that I have any problems with somebody who is bi or pan. For example I love Luna and Stella. I just would never fuck either of them if I didn't know in their heart of hearts that they intend to only be with women from this point forward. That's because I "identify" as someone who don't fuck people who intend to ever fuck a man again.

Besides all of that, a chick that turns me on could be anything from a girly femme like my Suzy was or a flannel and mullet wearing bull dyke. THAT part is all about the person.

I sort of like the homoflexible (and heteroflexible) labels you see in places like Fetlife. I think they're more accurate terms for a lesbian who will occasionally fuck a man (or a straight woman who will occasionally fuck another woman). I'm not suggesting that bisexual means one must keep equal numbers of male and female partners or anything; if it happens more than once in a blue moon, that person's probably bi. ;)

yes, homo-and hetero-flexible are very valuable additions to the language!

I like those terms too, I've heard them before. The list of labels seems to be every growing, to incorporate more and more people, but ultimate, there will always be someone who either doesn't want to be labeled, or doesn't have a label that fits.

And so many of us still are on the journey to find who we are...

Really appreciate all your thoughts and advice on this... Nice to get a discussion going :) Might go in for the rainbow jewellery idea!

Well yes, yes I was...and then I was imagining slipping it off your body...and doing very rude things to you...for hours...*nods*

hours?
I don't think my young, hot frame could take it!

;)

**Leans way over the ropes and reaches for the tag in**

You, my dear, need to learn to share your toys!

You're a brute!

*accepts the tag in with ill grace but a wicked grin*

Fine, I wouldn't do this for just anybody, woman!!

*slips between the ropes and onto the outside of the squared circle*

She's all yours...but save me some, k?

What the hell? What am I? Pudding??

**knowingly glances at the folding chair held at your side**

"Shall we double team her?"

**climbs to the top rope an prepares to execute the famous SBA Flying Face Sit**

What?!

*cracks up*

Wait a minute... Why is it always ME that gets double teamed?!
Why can't I tag in sometimes??

And what the hell is a SBA Flying Face Sit???

Flippin NOOBS!!!

:D

I've written stories about butch lesbians getting strap-on fucked by bossy FEMMES and loving it. Had GREAT reviews for a change. LMBAO.

Yeah you're no help at all!!

I've been there. It's mighty fine place to be.

*gets comfy*

Tell us more Stella

We're here to help. Some are more helpful than others (with their flying face sits or whatever)

:D

Hopefully it works eh? Good luck honey!

:)

I love this line. I say regardless, the first thing to go should be those goddamned shoes.

I love different styles of shoes, but I'm not squeezing my foot in shoes that make me cranky.

Agreed... But a comfortable pair of heels make me feel that bit more confident and sexy! (Plus I'm somewhat "vertically challenged"... Adding a few inches makes a nice change lol.)

"A comfortable pair of heels" is a oxymoron. Just sayin. ;)

Amy~there are such things~usually 1 or 2 inches in height...

(I used to wear em...I am only 5 feet tall you know??)

Good things come in small packages... so that would make you GREAT, right??? :D

**ducks**

(and I have some dress shoes that have a 1" heels BTW (and of course my boots), but NONE of them have those stupid skinny, pointy freakin heels on them = I've never found "teetering" to be that attractive!)

Damn skippy, punkin!!

(I have quite a few pairs of CFM heels but I don't wear 'em very often~mostly cuz I prefer my Tiimberlands, Doc's and jeans)

I bet you'd look good in you CFM heels (if you were laying down in them... ;) )

My Docs are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, but I am rather partial to my FMBs... They were a bargain, go with everything and have a bit of a platform so even though they look lethal, they don't actually feel that high ;)

I have a great pair of FMBs that have lasted a few years, since I only wear them on special occasions. I stay away from tall heels since I'm tall already. I tend to wear flats just because they are SOOOOO much more comfortable.

*blushy face* smart ass!!

My fave boots are 6 inches total with a three inch platform (so that they only feel like a normal pair of 3 inch heeled boots...) Above the knee and sexy...I wear em maybe 4 times a year~

*smirks and kisses Sasha's nose* I wanna see you in your FMB's...bet you look real pretty...kneeling.

I would rather wear FYBs --fuck you boots-- or LMFYBs-- let me fuck you boots :cattail:

*signs up to be the first in Stella's line*

Thanks for the mature response.
It's a real balancing act sometimes. Perhaps you can show a similar maturity, and delete some of your own posts before you hit submit.

I have done you the courtesy of assuming you are a real person, with values and needs that I don't share.

Do the same, please.

About the bisexual thing. I'm not sure that it's accurate to label a lesbian who occasionally has sex with men as "bisexual." I've known lesbians who are like that. And while I'm far from one of them, I understand it. These articles talk about it: Why do lesbians hate bisexuals? and A Worried Bisexual Lesbian. And, somewhat unlike the latter link, the reason most lesbians like this don't identify as "bisexual" is because they feel it would be far more misleading -- false advertisement -- when they really have no true desire to be with men sexually. The thought of men doesn't get them sexually excited. It's women. Or it's women that is their primary turn-on, like that latter link. So saying "I'm bi" when you're not looking for a man and could really care less if you find one seems disingenuous. It signals to men that "Hey, you have a shot with me," when more often than not, they don't. Why adopt a label which advertises to the portion of the population you don't prefer? It's just that some of these women don't mind having sex with men if horny enough. Some desire penetration, plain and simple, and don't see having sex with a man purely for his cock as any different than being penetrated by a dildo by a woman. It's like hating broccoli, and only eating it because you're hungry.

Really, plenty of gay men have stated to having gotten a little sexual pleasure from having sex with their girlfriends or wives before coming out as gay. Some were able to go some place in their head -- imagine a man -- during the act. Others just focused on the pleasure that was being applied to their penis.

Just like people can have sex with a dildo or blow-up doll, or other non-human object and not be truly sexually attracted to those objects, I feel the same can be applied to becoming sexually intimate with the sex you do not favor. It's just a sexual outlet for some people.

Further, enough people dispute bisexuality. One argument is that you have to be equally sexually attracted to both sexes, because if you prefer one over the other, that cannot be bisexuality. In the same way that a person cannot be biracial unless they are half and half. And a bicycle would not be a bicycle, but rather a unicycle or tricycle. It's because of this that the other argument is that no one is 100% heterosexual or homosexual. If you go by the Kinsey scale, then 100% heterosexuality or homosexuality is extremely rare.

And, Safe Bet, is that the original Safe Bet? I only ask because when I came here to reply your posts about tribadism (what is actually a common form of tribadism) last year (in December), the moderator said you had passed away.

Trust me, if I was a bisexual, I would identify as such. I have only been in love with women, I can only truly be attracted to a woman and only a woman can make me come. To name a few. However, every once in a while I have a choice to make, go without sex for like a year or shag a dude. I regard shagging a dude pretty much as physical exercise. Also, it's not like I go telling everyone around it, do I? I doubt lesbians would know I sometimes sleep with men just by looking at me, would they?

Straight women sometimes sleep with lesbians and a lot of them still identify as straight afterwards, you know what I mean?

Basically what I stated above about sexual release. Don't worry, MMMad, I understand you and respect your identification. So do many researchers, by the way. Just like I respect transmen calling themselves men, while some lesbians don't (the whole confusing sex and gender thing).

I hate to break it to you, but identity has jack shit to do with behavior. Welcome to the 21st century. There's no goddamn lesbian card, people have the right to determine their own identity, and if you want respect, you damn well better respect others. I am fucking tired of people saying "oh you're bi" or "oh you're gay" or whatever shit. There's a reason the CDC uses the term MSM: because identity and behavior are NOT always what you think they are. You have to trust that a person knows who the fuck they are. If a man has a wife but he's on the DL, only HE can tell you if he is gay, straight, or bisexual. You don't get to assign him a label just to make yourself feel better.

It's attitudes like that which make me ashamed to be a dyke. I should just start using queer again, so people don't think I'm some idiot who likes to pigeonhole people against their will.

BRAVO!!!! THANK YOU!!!! :D:D

And the ones who have read my past posts know I have a penchant for backing up my statements with reliable sources (most of the time, research and scholarly texts). I could certainly do that for these arguments as well.

EDITED TO ADD: Others just tuning in, I posted two posts on this subject on Page 3 as well. I would delete this post and combine it with the former if I saw a delete button.
