Re: Even me?

SSK, even if you knew I was there you wouldn't go? Personally I love that place on the weekends. I just walk around the area and people watch and listen to all the street musicians. I like it, because the crowd is so eclectic. You see all kinds of people there, including horndogs like me. :p

Although it is much better in the summer. The gals wear less clothing. :p

Well, Im off. It takes about 15 minutes to get there from MDR.

No even for you Lance... the crowd there makes me feel claustrophobic... I hate the pushing and shoving...

I'm Back

SSK, When I got there about noon, the place was pretty empty. You would only get shoved or pushed if a guy was brave enough to cop a feel and considering how sparse the crowd was I wouldn't try it..... err.... I mean a guy wouldn't try to grope. Not enough people.... hmmmm, well, I'm getting sidetracked.

I did see one really sweet, but way too skinny, gal with green spikey hair and more rings, bars, bangles and baubles hanging from the most incredibe places on her head. One might wonder what other parts are pierced? Hmmm, I do wonder how she blows her nose. Well... Not really. :D

But when I left, the place was filling up nicely. I was going to stop and surf the people and listen to some tunes, but I needed lunch and my wallet was a bit bare. So home I went. Besides I missed all you guys.

The movie. Ahhhhh well, it had Jennifer Garner and Ben AFFFFF Flack. But with a pg13 rating, not much of them to see. :(

I was not impressed with movie. Spiderman was a better movie. The fights didn't work for me. The special effects were not that special. The plot was sorely lacking and so predictable my granddaughter could have written it. Of course, one doesn't see a remake of a comic book for the plot. One wants gadgets, horrendous fights, and of course the hero saves the world and ends up with the buxom bombshell at the end - not unlike a Bond film.

I won't tell you if this movie did all that, but I was not impressed.

I did get a glimpse into our future viewing pleasure as Hollywood sees it. First I had to sit through the 7-8 commercials. Since when do I have to pay $7 and still see comms? Then they had 7-8 previews, which I tend to enjoy. Previews are comms that I might actually care about. NOT this time.

Let's see, coming this summer is The Hulk (been there. Read that. Don't need to see it). The X-men part II (Yawn), The Core (a throughly scientifically implausible story about the Earth's core stopping its spin. Give me a break. Any first year physic student can blow that clean out of the water without even trying hard.)

And of course the politically correct new movie called - get this -
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LEG for short), starring no less a personage than Sean Connery. Yikes. Poor Sean, what drug did they slip him? From the preview this is a remake of a comicbook series entitled Justice League of America. Well, we can't have that for a name now can we? Not in this post 9/11 era.
Oh wait a minute, do you suppose Bush fancies himself a JLA member?

The only thing I could gather from all these movies and another one with Adam (why the hell doesn't he sell cars) Sandler, which doesn't even merit discussion, is that Hollywood is so totally bereft of ideas now and has to mine the comic book era of the 50s for story ideas. What is this country coming too? Have we dumbed down that much?

Oh well, at least this summer is simply the time between Lord of the Rings part II and Part III. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

:)

dang it why didn't I try for Siskel's job wit Ebert?

awww... Lance... You WOULDN'T have Groped me... I am so dissapointed.. LOL....

I am not bothering with the popcorn movies... I wait for them to come out on tape.. then I can just stop the tape to look at Ben Affleck face.. which is all a woman really goes to see a movie he is in for anyway..Go see the Gangs of New York, or the Pianist or Road to Perdition or Adaptation... all are very good... I have to catch up with About Schmidt and The Hours and a couple of others before Oscar night... I think The Pianist is the best film of the lot... Chicago sucked IMHO... but I think the inside track goes to The Hours... I am reading the novel now and plan to go to the movie maybe next week....

GLB... I did have a better day than you did. I did not much of nothing... then went over to visit my parents... and had a pot roast dinner... LOL

well frankly GLB... me and my dog mooching off my mother is about as much as she can stand... I do try and stay in her good graces... LOL... my mom is a great cook...
