Another beautiful day in the City by the Bay. Fog in the morning to make the air crisp and damp, clearing to a sparkler in the afternoon! AHHHH summer in San Francisco!!!!

I enjoy both the beaches and all that Balboa has to offer. I love the museums there. I spend hours going through them some days. Just drifting aimlessly about, searching for things I missed the times before. And the beaches......lazy days spent there are wonderful, I often take evening walks along the shore. I'm not too fond of ocean water, so I tend to just make my foot prints in the sands.

I'm here from Chicago and I'm trying to figure out what to do this weekend. If I find someone to go with me, I'm thinking about heading up to Napa (don't want to go wine tasting alone). If I don't find some company, I am considering a trip to the Haight - Asbury district. Any thoughts? Is the Haight a safe place to roam?
All suggestions appreciated.

The pier is a good touristy thing to do. Coit Towers gives you a spectacular vista.
The drive up to Napa is worth the trip, even if you don't go wine tasting..

I can't believe that you've never heard of Haight-Ashbury!!!
That was like THE PLACE to be for all of the hippies and flower children in the 60's and early 70's. It's where you went to "Tune in, turn on and drop out"! It was huge!
(btw) I was just a little kid then, but I remember hearing about it! ) he he!!

Lol..In the 60's and 70's I was in the Army..serving the Queen and Country (joined as a 15 year old in 1966, leaving as a 40 year old in 1991). I am afraid to say that in England, we didn't hear about Haight..and I wasn't allowed to be a hippy in the Army!!
